I had just finished my homework and taken my headphones out when I heard a thump.
"Sitzen. Bleiben," I told mine and Reid's pets. I grabbed my old softball bat and crept down the stairs. When I got to the bottom I found my mom in a pool of her blood. A man was over at our pictures. I snuck up behind him
and whacked him.
"Who are you!"
The man got up and I went to hit him again but he took my bat so I let go of the bat and went to roundhouse kick him and he grabbed my foot and flipped me so I landed on my back. He took out a knife and placed his knee on my chest so I couldn't move while his knife rested against my neck.
"Behave."
He pulled out a capped needle and took the cap off with his mouth not moving the hand that held the knife to my throat. He moved the needle towards my arm and I struggled against him. The knife ended up cutting my cheek in the struggle and he stabbed the needle into my arm. Within seconds I was knocked out.

Morgan's POV

We all turned to look at Reid. Hotch decided I should be the one to tell him since we are the closet and told me to meet them at the cars. I nodded and went into Reid's office.
"Hey Spence."
He looked up at me and I could already see the worry in his eyes.
"What is it?"
"Reid-"
"You just called me Spence. You've never called me that. What's happened?"
"Listen before you react."
He nodded.
"The unsub attacked again. They found a body at 953 Oak Lane Drive."
He stood up.
"Let's go."
"Reid-"
"Morgan. Take me to my moms house or get out of my way."
I sighed and followed him to the elevator. The whole ride to his moms house was silent. He was the first one out and practically jumped out of the car before it was fully stopped.

Reid's POV

I rush inside to my sisters room and find that my dog and her cat are sitting like statues.
"Kommit."
They follow me downstairs and I let them outside. Then we examine the crime scene. My mom was in the kitchen in a pool of her blood and Leya's softball bat was on the ground with some blood on it.
"She fought back," I mumbled with a half laughing half crying voice.
"What," Emily asked.
I turned to them and had tears running down my face with a smile.
"She fought back. I don't know if I feel relieved or depressed. But she fought back. And now we have the unsubs blood."
I picked up the bat and handed it to the crime scene team and then remembered that we installed security cameras around the house.
"And we might have a facial."
I went over to a clock and took out a camera that was hidden inside. I told the team where to find the rest and we gathered all thirty seven that were inside and outside the house. We took them back to the bureau and had Garcia run over it. She brought the parts right before all this happened to the conference room and played it. The guy came in through the back shot and then stabbed my mom. Then Leya crept down the stairs and snuck up behind him. She hit him and held her bat to hit again but when she swung he grabbed her bat. She went to kick him and he made her fall and she struggled but then he stuck a needle in her arm and she went motionless. Her threw her over his shoulder and walked out. I could feel tears stinging my eyes as I watched my little sister be taken by a monster.

Morgan's POV

I saw Reid tear up and hugged him.
"I've already lost my mom. She's all I have left. I can't lose her," he says as he cries into my shoulder.
"I know kid. We are going to get her back. But we need your genius mind to help us okay?"
He nodded and we all headed out of the conference room. The whole time the only thought on my mind was that I was going to catch the son of a _____ that hurt Reid and his family.
