Warriors: cherryfrost's choice

Cherrykit winced as tiny needle- like claws spiked into her fur. "can't a kit get any sleep around here!" Cherrykit meowed, annoyed.

"who knew a kit could be as grumpy as an elder that didn't get his bedding clean." berrytail said.

Cherrykit knew that berrytail always spoke like that when Cherrykit said something berrytail didn't like.

"Oh please." brackenfrond, replied , defending Cherrykit. "her littermates kept her up all night".

berrytail snorted and turned away. appleleaf laughed with amusement.

Cherrykit looked up at her mom. "Can we go exploring". brackenfrond looked down at Cherrykit and then nodded her head.

together, Cherrykit, bloodkit, snowkit, and shadowkit walked out of the nursery into the crisp air.

none of the kits knew what it was like for the air to be warm.

suddenly a husky scent filled Cherrykit's nostrils. turning her head, Cherrykit saw a young gray tom with two white paws and two black paws starting at her.

"Hi" he meowed. "I'm ashpaw. you must be Cherrykit, shadowkit, snowkit, and bloodkit." ashpaw mewed.

"h-how do you know it's?" , Cherrykit stuttered. "I helped you be born" ashpaw explained.

oh. Cherrykit thought. ashpaw stared after Cherrykit and her littermates as they tromped through the camp.

Cherrykit's littermates started chasing a butterfly so Cherrykit hid in a scraggly Bush near the entrance to the nursery.

"mom we're clean enough!" Tigerkit hissed. lilykit added, "yeah you don't need to clean us anymore."

berrytail released Tigerkit and and started walking toward the sky tree for the apprentice ceremony

Graystar was already on the main branch of the sky tree. "let's let all cats old enough to leap into trees gather beneath the sky tree for a clan meeting." Graystar yowled.

the clan gathered. as everyone was getting out of their nests, Cherrykit sputtered deeper into the Bush, praying to StarClan that brackenfrond wouldnt notice her.

but as she walked past, brackenfrond looked into the Bush. "come out Cherrykit, I know you're on their."

Cherrykit muttered curse with under her breath as the followed brackenfrond to the clan meeting.

"Tigerkit and lilykit have reached their sixth moon. they have learnef what it is like to be a LightningClan cat, now they will learn what it is like to be a LightningClan warrior."

the clan listened closer. " Tigerkit step forward. from this day forward until you tecieve your warrior name, you will be known as tigerpaw. heatherpelt, you have learned lots of skills from runningsky and I expect you will pass them on to tigerpaw."

" lilykit from this day forward until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lilypaw, Blackfur though you are young you still have lots of things to teach this apprentice. blackfur you will mentor Lilypaw."

TIGERPAW!!! LILYPAW!!! the clan yowled to the darkening sky. Cherrykit could wait until it was her turn to be known as cherrypaw. brackenfrond turned at less get into the nursery.

curling up in her mother's side, Cherrykit let sleep take over her.
