Mia's POV:
I looked at Kylie with nervousness, as she prepared to tell me whatever was bothering her.
"So..I was with Mr. Styles this morning.."
What? My eyes were about to fall out of their sockets if I'd widened my eyes anymore.
"What?" I repeated, utterly surprised.
"Yeah."
Kylie smiled sheepishly and looked away, a tiny blush forming on her cheeks.
"That's impossible! You were with him? What do you mean?????"
"I..err..I just bumped into him on the way and he invited me to play pickup games with him, so I spent all the time before first period with him." She finished with a smile.
"Excuse me? I was looking for you! And you were spending "quality time" with Mr. Styles?"
"If I remember correctly, you were the one who ditched me, so don't give me all that 'I was looking for you' crap! Seriously, Mia!! You just abandoned me in the middle of the parking lot! Where were you?"
I was taken aback; I didn't think she would ask me that...oh no...
"I..uh..I.."
"Speak up, stutter cat!" Kylie smiled and gave me one of her toothy grins.
"I..I went to meet...um..Ms. Delark..she has assigned booknotes over this week and I had a question so I went to her room to ask her about it..."
"But you could've just told me! I would've gone with you, you know!"
"I know, Ky! But I was in a hurry and I wanted to catch her before she went into her tremendously long naps... she always takes one before class!"
Kylie looked like she bought my lie, which was good since I am not ready to tell her about Zayn..uh..Mr. Malik.
The bell rang, snapping me out of my thoughts. I walked outside with Kylie..
The rest of the day passed in a blur. Mr. Styles kept giving me weird glances and I grew nervous. I wanted to ask him about it but I decided it would be best not to since we aren't on good terms, to be honest. Yet.
Being a teacher's pet was all I did but now it seemed complicated since Mr. Styles is friends with Za..Mr. Malik. I really should not call him by his first name!
Honestly, the man confuses the hell out of me! Why does he have to be so moody and bipolar? Ahh! All this thinking is making my brain hurt!
I walked home and changed into my work clothes. I had managed to finish all of my homework in school so I was free for the night. I greeted Daisy as usual and began to make cappuccinos, mochas and whatever else customers needed.
I was busy with my coffee-making when I heard a voice yell loudly. As I turned around to see who or what was causing it, my eyes narrowing at the person in front of me.
Of course, it had to be him! His honey brown eyes met my olive green ones and his expression changed into a softer one.
"Never mind then". He said to Daisy who was cowering behind the counter.
He looked at my one more time and returned to his table. I glanced at him and sure enough, the skank of a nurse was in the seat across from him. He seemed to be talking to her but I couldn't hear them from where I was standing.
Suddenly, she got up and left the cafe. Zayn pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes for a minute.
I returned to my coffee-making, not looking back any more.
