Mia's POV:

I jolt straight up and rub my eyes with my hands. I shut the alarm that had just woken me up. Me and my PRECIOUS sleep! Damn you, alarm!

My hand falls right on my laptop keyboard right next to my bed playing my playlist.

"First day of a new school year. Typical. Hey, but I'm not!

Introductions, first. Hey! I'm Mia, well Marina but I will chop off your head and haunt you even after you return from your grave if you EVER call me that! I'm serious about spelling my name right here, folks!

Mia Rai, nice name for a nice gal, you might think. Oh, but you won't. Not after you getta know me. I'm 17, and simply waiting to turn 18 would be an understatement. Again, typical teenage attitudes.

But trust me, you won't after you get to know me. You just won't.

'Cause you will judge me based on my looks. Tan with the darkest brown hair & sea-green eyes that refuse to hold any sort of make-up.

Plus, my personality doesn't help either. I know, I'm stubborn, rude and a very violent person, but I'm proud of it. It keeps me from being bullied. Mind you, if you ever cross paths with me, I will make sure to castrate you alive. Trust me on that.

Well I've told you all about my "wonderful" self and I hope you all shall like me!"

I finished reciting the little speech I had prepared to use against anybody who wanted to get to know me. I am pretty straightforward, cause I know people don't really like me that much but pretend to be my friends just cause my dad the most reputed lawyer in Blue Ridge, New York. I like to keep it real. "Shout it out" is my motto and I live with no regrets. Absolutely none.

Before you start judging again, let me clarify that I'm brown. Brown as in South-Asian. My parents belong to the beautiful land of India and although I don't look/act like a brown person should, I grew up with Indian parents. Which means, no staying out late, no sleepovers unless you've known them all your life and don't have a Y chromosome, no parties whatsoever (though I've sneaked to some of them) and ABSOLUTELY no going out on school nights unless it's for work/library.

A huge sigh after all that's been said. I love my life and although I secretly wish I had more liberties, I love my parents nonetheless; I couldn't have had a better family.

Moving on to my social skills. They aren't that bad despite my "pleasing" personality. Kylie "Clementine" Clement is my BFFL and she is one crazy woman. We do everything together. I mean, we have the same classes, we "share" moms (Yes, I call her mom 'mom' and she calls my mom 'mom'), we go to school together, we eat lunch together. Honestly I could never have asked for a better best friend!

We have our own cliche with a few more people but I'll introduce them later! We are all one happy family. We rarely fight, mostly just teasing and messing around with each other. I love them all very much and we always stick up for each other, no matter what.

Well enough is said, I should probably go check up on that shower that I put off last night. See ya soon!
