Mia's POV:

The bell rang and I walked into 2nd period, despite my attempts to ditch school. Luck was surely not on my side cause Kylie saw me leaving and convinced me to go to class. Maybe it was time to tell her about everything. Everything that had happened between me and Mr. Malik. I just don't understand why he keeps coming back to me!

List in my thoughts, I didn't realize that I'd bumped into someone. Warm, brown eyes captured my gaze and a small smile appeared on his lips. He was handsome. I wouldn't deny that but his personality completely threw it all off. He was such an asshole! And he made me so freaking mad that I just wanted to rip my hair off if my head in frustration.

I ignored him and walked to my seat, without uttering a word.

"Good morning, class. I was thinking about telling you guys earlier but eh, I got caught up in some work. I am planning a trip to Florida soon- to the Connosium Museum." (Yes, I know there is no such thing in Florida but this is fiction)

Several murmurs erupted in the room; I was surprised as well. Florida was a long way from Michigan. Wonder how he was going to convince the principal.

"Yes, I know it is a long trip but I assure you it will be worth it. Mr. Styles will be accompanying us although none of his students will be on this trip. He will act as a chaperone and I will also contact your parents regarding this."

"This trip will help us in the final project of the year-the boat project which will take place in the months of April and May. But before that, I want you all to complete the Egg-Drop project with the concepts of gravity."

The class groaned at the mention of the project; it was no secret that all of us despised any work given to us.

Mr. Malik turned to the board and wrote an equation on the board.

I opened my binder and started taking notes. He moved flowingly through the PowerPoint but his eyes were on me, for the most part, I ignored his lingering gaze.

"So, who can tell me how to solve a proportionality problem?"

Nobody raised their hand nor spoke up. Meanwhile, the impatient side of me thrashed around to shout out the answer but I was just as stubborn to not having to talk to him.

"Nobody knows?" He cocked up an eyebrow, a lopsided smirk on his face.

I fidgeted in my seat. His eyes scanned the room and landed on me. He seemed to notice my discomfort.

"Do you have anything you want to say, Ms. Rai?" He asked, poker face on.

"Um, you simply multiply one of the sides by a constant which is different for every situation but in this case, you would use Avagadro's number which is 6.22 x 10^23 because this problem asks for the increase in the atomic solubility of the compound." I finished, not really enjoying being the center of attention.

The class looked at me, stunned.

Mr. Malik looked at me with a smile on his face and said, "Now this is what I'm talking about! Thank you for that terrific explanation, Mia!"

He looked genuinely pleased at my answer. WHat? It's common sense, not to mention my late night studying paid off.

I looked away, my cheeks heating for absolutely no legitimate reason. Ass****! I screamed in my head.

The class went in without any further adieu and after what seems like a century, the bell finally rang.

"Ms. Rai, if you would come here for a minute..." Mr. Malik trailed off.
