Chapter 6

I did not ignore Jacob for the first two weeks after his confession.

I didn't think of it as a mistake first. He was still a little bit of a sugar daddy, but at least he kept it to a minimal now.

To say Killian was pissed for still letting Jacob hang out with us. Kaitlyn didn't seem like she gave a fuck. Seeing that she was having fun making fun of Jacob, I think she approves.

"Can Jacob go bother someone else tomorrow?" Killian snapped one Friday noon. "I just get fucking sick seeing his fucking gay face every single fucking day."

Killian doesn't always curse a lot. But when he does, he's about to reach his limit. So I just agreed, and talked to Jacob about this. He looked as if that was the last thing he would even do, but he agreed.

Jacob should really stop being clingy.

Unfortunately, we lost our free hour on Fridays. It was Club Hour. Do you fucking know what that means? That means I have to freaking stick with a bunch of singing people. That place was like a mix of Gossip Girl and Glee. Ugh, I am so excited. Not.

As soon as we were allowed to enter the room, I rushed to take the seat next to Hayley Williams, an old friend. She gave me a small smile in greeting before continuing an awesome portrait she was drawing. I always envied her drawing skills. I still had slight trouble with proportions and facial features.

"So, Marcia, we haven't talked in a while," she began. "How's life so far? Has Jacob finally grown some balls and asked you out?"

My eyes widened in shock. "How did you know?"

Hayley gave me a smug smile. "Please, it’s pretty obvious, Marcia. He's like putting a claim on you or something by being a sugar daddy."

"But that doesn't mean we're together," I argued.

"Hold your horses, girl. I never said that. I'm just saying that the rumors are starting to spread, so you have to start taming the boy."

I narrowed my eyes. "What fucking rumors?"

'Uhm... Marcia, haven't you noticed that we're in high school, where rumors fly faster than you can say hi?"

"Damn it," I cursed. "I should've seen this coming."

"Nobody did. That's why Killian's kinda pissed at him right now. The people are always asking him if the rumors are true."

I felt bad, really bad. Killian knew about these rumors, and I didn't? To make things worse, he was left to face the ocean of gossips and answer them one by one. I felt like a terrible friend.

"But anyways, let's not dwell on that," Hayley continued. "If Jacob made an official move, would you say yes?"

I didn't want to answer that question. I mean, who does? Who wants to be asked that kind of stuff, especially when it's your best friend?

"I... really don't know, Hayley," I said in all honesty. There were not a lot of people I felt comfortable being honest with, but Hayley was one of them. "It's just that I know he's a nice guy, but he's my ex-boyfriend's best friend. I'm just... confused, I guess."

Hayley nodded. "It's a good thing you haven't fallen for his charm, Marcia."

"Charm? What charm?"

She looked around to see if any of the other members were looking our way. "Marcia, will you please promise me that no one else will know about this?"
