Chapter 7: Wanna eat?

'Free?'

The message felt like floodlights. You know, those large lights at stadiums that takes up way too much electricity and attracts too many insects? The phone lightened up the hole room and Victoria couldn't think of anything else than Marina and the Diamonds' lyrics 'Lights they blind me'. Fiddling with her phone before she was able to turn the screen brightness down made her more angry that she was from her work stress, yet the message she read calmed her anger faster than one would have believed if they had known her past.

'Now?'

After a short while a new message ticked in.

'I wouldn't have asked now if I meant in three weeks! Hungry? I'm craving something.'

Victoria's heart fluttered a bit. It had been a while since she felt this way towards a guy, but she had never really forgotten about him. Her feelings still lingered.

'I'm always down for night snacks. Where should we meet?'

'I'm outside waiting. Just come out!'

Victoria got up and got dressed like she was heading for a red carpet event. Before she stopped up and thought 'how does he know where I live?' She asked him and after a while a reply came.

'I walked down Randomname Street and I saw you walk in, I just assumed you lived there...'

Victoria called him, and as he replied she could hear on the other side of the phone.

'IF YOU DON'T GO NOW WE'LL CALL THE POLICE!!!!'

Surely after some footsteps on an asphalt road and light panting could be heard in the phone.

'You alright there?'

'I understand you don't live here, then!' he said choking on his voice.

'You're right. That's the marketing team leader's house. Explain where we'll meet and I'll meet you there.'

Jam carefully explained where the best cheap and delicious food were and they agreed on meeting there.
