Chapter 5: Stella needs help

'Thank you for your cooperation. I'm sure we'll benefit more from each other in the future.'

The head of the Lamont Clay family bid farewell to the CEO of Chang International Corporation. Behind him stood the Lamont Clay family perfectly lined up in the best suits and dresses available. With a final bow, the Lamont Clay family head out the office. In order of rank and in total silence, they walked in a line down the hall towards the lifts. Not until exiting the building and into their cars a word was said.

Ioanna sighed, looking out the tinted car window. Cain put his hand on top of hers.

'Tiring?'

She turned down to her hand, and followed his arm up towards his voice. Changing her expression from her slightly confused look to a bit more uncomfortable one.

'No. No it's not. I'm fine.'

She moved her hand out of his. Before he could catch her cold attitude her phone vibrated. Ioanna hurriedly picked up her phone, in order to indirectly blame it for not wanting to hold his hand.

'I'm in need of a friend. Busy?'

'I'm free. What's up?'

The three dots popped up, continuing for a couple of minutes.

'I'll come to Shanghai.'

'I see. I'll meet you here then-'

Ioanna deleted the message and looked over to Cain who was busy explaining something to the chauffeur.

'I'll come to Tokyo. I'll be at your flat. Don't worry. I'm on the next plane to Tokyo.'

'Cain. I have to leave for Tokyo. Mister. Take me to the airport right away.'

Cain looked rather flushed, but he controlled his temper.

'What is it now? You know we have a reputation to keep?'

Ioanna looked at him for a while. Then turned to the tinted window again.

'Some things are more important than reputation.'
