Leslie's POV
"Hey bats!...I know...I know...I'm sorry...yeah, I'm fine. Yeah...No I had some...help."
I can only hear Robins side of the conversation, as he holds down his earpiece."I'm sending my coordinates now. I'll explain on the plane. R out."
He finishes."Okay! I saved you, so now I gotta find a place to stay." I think aloud as I look down at the ground from the building we're on.
"I'm sure Bats could take you in for a while..." Robin says as he nervously rubs the back of his neck.
"As much as I would love that, I couldn't take that offer. Also, that's crazy. Why would he trust me?" I explain.
"You saved me." He shrugs.
"I don't know..." I reply.
"Well lets at least wait for him" He says.
"Fine. I guess that couldn't hurt. But he better be here soon. It's only a matter of time before they send out search parties and you need to get out of here." I reply.
All of a sudden there is a light shining in our eyes. It's the bat plane! I've seen it a couple times while looking out windows, but I've never seen it like this. A platform comes down and out comes running the Batman. He went towards his young sidekick and hugged him. He stands up and stares at me.
"Who are you?" He asks me.
"I'm...uh...Leslie. Leslie Quinn. I uh...I helped Robin get out." I said nervously.
He glared at me, then at Robin. Then back to me.
"Why? I'm assuming you work with the Joker and Harley Quinn." He questions
"I don't work with them...I'm their biological daughter."
"Why did you help him?"
"Once I heard this plan I knew it wasn't right, so I helped and in the process got out myself." I explain.
He ponders my words. Robin pulls Batman aside and speaks to him.
"Robin has presented the idea of you staying with us...but I'm not so sure. Come with me, anyways. I want to question you in the plane. It's not safe here." He shouts as the engine to the plane starts back up.
I follow him onto the plane and take a seat next to Robin. Batman sits across from us.
"Who's flying this thing?" I ask.
"You said you are the Joker and Harley Quinn's biological child, so you can see why I have trouble trusting you. For all I know saving Robin could be part of the plan." He explains.
"I wouldn't trust me either." I remarked.
"Hmm." He grunted.
"You don't have to let me stay with you... Me getting out of there is because of Robin. If I hadn't even able to save him then I would still be there and so would he. I promise I am not in on any plan with those bozos." I quickly explain.
"She's telling the truth. I can tell she's being genuine." Robin adds.
"Okay." Batman sighs, "We're here. I'll lead you to where you will stay for a little. But this isn't permanent."
I follow them out of the plane and into a cave of some sort. The ceilings are lined with bats and the entire cave has very high tech computers and gadgets.
"This is the only place you are aloud to be. If I catch you anywhere else, I can end you." He threatens.
"But Batman doesn't kill..." I say.
"No, but other people do." He says as he walks away towards a computer.
"Sorry. He's always in a grumpy mood." Robin chuckles.
"That's alright." I giggle. "So was Joker. He was constantly grumpy."
"Yeah. About that, go over to Bats. He's gonna want to put in some info about you considering this is the first time we're hearing about you." He explains.
"Alright." I shrug as a walk towards Batman.
"Hey, Robin said something about you adding information about me into your files..." I say.
"Yes." He says as he sits down in the chair.
"Name?"
"Leslie Marie Quinn."
"Place of birth?"
"Park Row, Gotham City."
"Date of birth?"
"September 30, 2003."
"They've kept you secret for 14 years?" He asks in disbelief.
"Yeah." I chuckle.
"Okay and finally tell me more about your backstory."
"Umm...Joker and Harley are my parents, I only ever had one friend named Ethan who I think of more as a mentor, and the work I did for those clowns was get information from other thugs and eavesdrop conversations. Pretty uneventful." I shrug.
He just looks back at the computer and begins to type.
"Your welcome." Mumble sarcastically as I go find Robin again.
"Wait." He says, stopping me in my tracks. "I don't trust you. But Robin told me you were planning to live on the streets. So don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I will do anything it takes to keep our identities, and our lives out of danger." He explains. His voice is low. Scary.
"Okay." I reply, quiet as a mouse. I turn to find Robin.
"Hey." I say as I spot him.
He was standing at some table full of what looked like high tech gear and gadgets. He was tinkering with one of them.
"Oh! Hey! What's up?" He says as he looks up.
"Nothing. I was just wondering what you were up to." I shrug.
"Well I'm glad you came over here. I never got to properly tell you how much want you did meant to me or thank you for saving my life...so thank you." He explains with a smile.
"Your welcome." I smile back warmly.
"Robin, here are the cookies you requested." The British voice of a much older man says. "Hello. I'm Alfred. Robin has already informed me of your presence. Thank you for saving him." Alfred says looking at me.
"No problem." I reply as I smile.
"Thanks Alf." Robin says.
With that Alfred nods and walks off.
"Want one?" Robin holds out a cookie for me.
"Sure." I shrug as I take it from him.
I take one bite and I'm in heaven. I think I'm gonna like it here.
