I was heading over to Nick's house for dinner. Wilmer was on a business trip and I needed some company. I hadn't seen Nick in six months since I went on a tour in Europe and Australia. For some reason, I was really excited to see him.

Before I even knocked on the door, Nick opened it up.

"Hey, Demi" he hesitated, his eyes lingering on me.

"Hey, Nick" I replied pulling him onto a hug.

"Its been forever" I mumbled, not sure what to say.

We sat in silence for a second until he spoke.

"Let's go inside, I thought we could make a pizza or something" he beamed motioning me to go inside.

I was confused at the unusual tension in the room. Why was it so hard to talk to my best friend.

When we entered his living room, it was so different. He had got totally new furniture and repainted his walls. It was weird for him to do that.

"I see you redecorated" I chuckled looking around the room. "I thought you hated decorating?"

"Oh, I thought I just needed new furniture, I was getting tired of the old stuff" he smiled walking over to the fridge to take out some ingredients.

I stood up to join him "You know I can't cook, right?" I asked him picking up the pepperoni and examining it.

"I know, that's why I chose pizza to make" he chuckled, "How can I forget that you burning a grilled cheese when we were seventeen".

"I forgot about that. That was terrible, You and Joe laughed for hours after that" I laughed placing the pepperoni back on the table

"Yea that was pretty funny" he smiled giving me a light nudge.

We began to make the pizza, well Nick did. I basically set and watched occasionally stealing pieces of cheese.

"So how was the tour?" he asked taking the cheese bag from my hands, chuckling at the amount I had ate.

"It was good I guess. My European and Australian fans are awesome, but Wilmer kind of spoiled it for me". I began, drawing circles in the flour he had spilled on the counter .

Nick stuck the pizza into the oven and came to sit next to me, "What do you mean?" he questioned glaring right into my eyes.

I knew he was reading me, it was he always did. He always knew what I was feeling, even if I didn't know how I was feeling.

"He was just always so rude and overprotective, I was always doing something so wrong according to him" I continued

"It was so frustrating. At sometimes he just threatened to break up with me and just go home".

"Oh Demi, I'm so sorry. That had to be hard for you" he answered rubbing my shoulder. He knew how much I loved Wilmer.

"Let's not talk about that anymore" I whined wiping my teary eyes.

"We're better now" I said hopping up and heading towards the TV.

"Let's watch some Netflix" I announced grabbing my phone, and hooking it up to the TV.

Nick sat still, trying to figure me out, but I knew exactly how to confuse him. Me and Wilmer weren't better, we were worse.

"Demi let me see your arms" he finally replied walking over and grabbing my arms.

"Nick, what the fuck! I'm not cutting!" I yelled snatching my arms back.

"See!" I yelled pulling up my sleeves.
