There are many different types of power in the world. Tony seemed to have them all. Well, he didn't have psychic powers. He wasn't a mutant like one of Xavier's students. He wasn't a God like Thor. But he was the next best thing. If it was a power that a human could have, then he had it.
He had wealth, influence, intelligence, and even without the suit, he was no wimp. Most importantly, he had the power to negotiate. Stark Industries was investing some serious cash into the urban development in the city of Dhaka. At the center of it all was the new Stark-Asia Tower.
Pepper Potts, CEO of Stark Industries, made her way to the roof. Following behind her was her assistant, Harold "Happy" Hogan. Lately, Harold and Pepper had become very close.
Tony had become like a ghost over this new project. At one point, she tried to shut it down by executive order. Of course, Tony went to the board and had her overruled. She absolutely hated it when he did that.
The board had made the right decision. It was a black-ops program that was receiving funds from the US, the EU, Russia, China, Japan, and India. Whatever it was, it was important and it wasn't costing Stark Industries a dime.
She was never really going to scuttle the project. She just wanted to get his attention. That bastard had called her bluff. But he couldn't ignore her forever. The main lab for the project was right here in Dhaka. Eventually the chicken would have to come home to roost and that moment was now.
Tony landed on the roof and exited the Iron Man suit.
"Pepper?" Asked Tony, "what are you doing here?"
"Really, Tony?" Asked Pepper, "for three months you haven't spoken to me and that's the first thing out of your mouth? What am I doing here? I don't know, Tony. What do you think the CEO of Stark Industries is doing on the roof of the Stark-Asia Tower at ... Happy, what time is it?"
"It's 3:45 am, local time," said Happy.
"Well," said Tony, "I'm starting to suspect that you're not just here to say hi."
Technically, Pepper was there just to say hi. She missed him terribly, but she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of knowing that.
"I'm here to see the project, Tony." Pepper said, "I want to see what was so damn important you had to pull rank on me with the board."
"Pepper," said Tony, "it's not really a secret project if I go showing it off to just anybody. You maybe CEO, but you don't have high enough clearance level for this one. You're not military."
Pepper held up her hand and it began to glow red with Extremis energy.
"Oh," said Pepper, "I'm pulling out my superhero card on this one."
