Iron Man made a sonic boom as he flew into the afternoon sky towards the sun.
"Sir," said JARVIS, "Are you sure these speeds are advisable given our cargo?"
"What is the status of package?" Tony asked.
"The containment unit for the tesseract is reading at 99% stable," reported JARVIS.
"And what is the status of the booster jets?"
"There are in optimal condition... wait..." JARVIS double checked his calculations. "Sir, I would advise against firing the booster jets at on this trajectory, it would take us out of the atmosphere."
"That's the idea," said Tony.
Iron Man fired the booster jets and soon the blue of the afternoon sky changed to the starry black of space.
On board the International Space Station, Cosmonaut Yuri Chanoski and Astronaut Alison Smith had sneaked away into the conduit duct for a bit of privacy. There was barely room for one person let alone two in there. It was perfect.
Their lips embraced and they began tearing each other's clothes off. As they removed each item of clothing it went floating away inside the tube full of pipes and wires.
"Prepare for docking procedure," said Yuri.
"Permission granted to come aboard," said Alison.
In the observation lab, Commander Louise Francisco, stared a the radar console. Floating nearby was a six inch orange robotic sphere. The words GIZMO-04 was printed on the side in thick white stencil.
He typed a few commands into the terminal nearby. A matrix of numbers appeared on the screen. He looked back at the radar screen again.
"Gizmo-four," said Francisco, "connect me with Huston, would you?"
GIZMO-04 let out a cheerful beeping and then said, "connection established."
Francisco tapped the microphone/earpiece communicator.
"Houston, This is the ISS," said Francisco, "Please come in."
"ISS, this is Houston. We read you, over."
"Houston, is there any other launch scheduled for today? Over."
"That is negative. Over."
"I am seeing something on my Telemetry data," said Francisco, it's either a missile or maybe a meteor deflecting off the atmosphere..."
"Were seeing that too, ISS. Please hold... It is changing course. It looks like you have a visit from Santa Claus. Over."
"Shit," said Francisco, "Oh-Four, open a station wide frequency." GIZMO-04 beeped an affirming tone. "Attention, this is Commander Francisco, Santa Claus is coming to town. I repeat, Santa Claus is coming to town. All hands on deck. End transmission."
GIZMO-04 beeped again and said, "Transmission complete."
"Better go to yellows, just to be safe," said Francisco.
William Allen, or "Doc" as everyone liked to call him, was already putting his tools way in the cargo bay when the lights went yellow.
"Couldn't have waited until I got everything put away, could you, Francisco?" Doc said into his head set.
"I thought you had twenty-twenty vision," Francisco said over the speaker.
"You'd think that emergency lights would be designed to help you see..." grumbler Doc.
"What? You expect a bureaucracy to come up with something useful? You really are an old timer, aren't you, Doc?"
"Last time I checked," said Doc, "We were the same age."
"Doc, do me a favor, take a look out the port side widow and tell me if you can track this thing. It's moving pretty fast. You should be able to see it."
Doc floated his way over to the porthole and looked out.
"Naw," said Doc, "I'm not seeing anything."
Suddenly a big red hand collided with the window. Doc jumped back and grabbed his chest.
"Jesus Christ," yelled Doc.
"Are you alright, Doc?" Francisco asked.
Doc squinted until he recognized the familiar gold and red metal face outside of the window.
"Yeah, I'm alright, but we got a superhero on our haul."
"Which one?" Asked Francisco.
"Who do you think?" Doc asked back.
"It's Stark, isn't it?" Asked Francisco.
Tony's voice came over the headset, "well, it's certainly not you're friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Now do you guys mind letting me in? It's getting cold out here."
