"What do you mean she doesn't remember you?"
Evie couldn't believe her ears. She was pacing back and forth in the large ballroom of the castle. It was where the Queen's birthday celebration was to be held and Evie found herself helping plan the event to distract herself. It made her feel like things were normal. Like she was back in Auradon rather than stuck in Wonderland with the possibility of having the Queen snap at any moment at take her head.
Harry had stalked into here just a few minutes ago. She could tell that he didn't plan to come here, probably was just walking to clear his head and stumbled upon the room. As soon as he saw Evie he turned, quick to leave which let her know something was obviously bothering him. She wasn't about to let him off that easy, so she made him come help her with the planning. Though it was more her doing so and him just ranting.
Ranting about the fact that Artemis Hatter had no idea who Harry Hook was and completely forgot about her past with him. It was the only chance they had to save Wonderland, to get out of this god forsaken kingdom and home again, safely. And it was ruined.
"I mean, she doesn't remember me," he echoed, his voice raising. He quickly realized what he did and lowered his voice, as not to draw attention to himself, though the frustration and anger swirled in his bright eyes. "How much more clear do ya want me to be?"
"Well, what are we going to do?" Evie asked the one question that they were both wondering as she slumped onto the folding chair next to him. "How are you going to get Artemis to kiss you, if she doesn't even know who you are?"
"I'm not kissing her," he denied quickly and Evie looked at him sharply. She was pretty sure just about everyone had told him, true love's kiss, his kiss was the only way to break the curse.
"Alright," Evie sighed, crossing her arms over her legs and leaning forward on them. "If you're not going to kiss her, how do you plan to stop all this?"
Harry pursed his lips in thought, looking around the grand room that was decorated up and down with red, white, and black decorations. "Talk to her," he offered with a lame shrug. "Get her to trust me and then we take down Cheney. No Cheney no curse."
Evie just stared at him for a moment in complete disbelief. Did he honestly believe that would work? She scoffed, "alright, then again, I ask; 'How are you going to do that if she doesn't even know who you are'?" She asked again.
"I'll just have to make her remember." He said more so to himself than the girl sitting next to him. Without waiting for a response he pushed up out of his seat and hurried out of the ballroom, his coat billowing around him as he did so.
"Good luck!" Evie called after him unnecessarily, she doubted he heard her. She sighed heavily, slumping in her seat and turning her attention back to the check list. She had gone over everything that had already been set up, changed a few things here or there, and was now wrapping up a few loose ends.
