Some seconds after...
"Hey, have you seen Paige?" I asked Sean. "Yeah, she's actually looking for you". He answered pointing at Paige who was standing some steps across him. "Oh, okay thanks" I continued. Then I moved, trying to push all the people through the big balcony untill I finally saw Paige.
"P!" I shouted, since the music didn't permit Paige to hear me. That's the way I usually call her. She was looking for some beer, next to the drinks table. "Do you want some?" She asked. "No, I'm fine, maybe later" I answered as I came closer to her, so that we don't have to put so much effort at talking to each other due to the loud music.
"What about that guy you were dancing with?" She questioned as she turned her head back like if she was looking for someone. "I kind of ran away from him" I said as i shrugged.
"What? Why?!" Paige said. "Because I just found out that he is just this kind of guy that makes you fall in love with him when he's just having fun while looking for his next victim" I quickly said, so quick that I could barely get to breath. "Wow! Breath out!" She said as she shook me by my shoulders. "But, yeah, he's exactly the way you described him. Ian Copperman". She affirmed.
"Wait, do you know him?" I asked surprised of course.
"No, not at all, I asked Sean about him and he told me so".
"Oh, okay".
"But, didn't you at least felt attracted to him, Mel?" She asked. "Of course I did, haven't you seen him?" I honestly said in a whisper.
"So, why did you 'run away' from him?" She questioned as she chuckled. "Because I'm not going to let him play with me that way". I whispered again and after clearing my throat I continued. "And besides, I got a little scared" I've never been so close to a relative 'popular' guy before.
"Do you want a beer now" She said in a sarcastically way, noticing my weird behavior. "Yes, please!" I urged as she served me some. "Thanks" I said as I took the bright red cup.
"Do you want to dance?" Sean asked Paige staying behind her as she smiled and turned to look at him, then she looked at me, asking for some sort of permission with her big light brown eyes, I guess she didn't want to leave me alone. But I couldn't be selfish with my best friend
"Don't worry, I need some fresh air anyway, I'll be in the garden, you go" I said nudging her elbow and smiling back.
Then turned around and walked through all the people again on my way downstairs. There were people kissing, dancing, throwing up...
Did I just said throwing up? Ewww, I really needed a break.
I took a sip of my beer as I walked to the garden, clearly a lot quieter than upstairs since I was the only one in there. But not for too long.
"I swear to God it is destiny" Ian cut my peaceful moment.
"Or I just have bad luck" I reaffirmed.
"I'm Ian, by the way". He said with his perfect cheating smile.
"I know" I let him know. "Oh, so you already investigated me?" He asked as he came closer. "Same thing you did with me". I said as I took another sip of my beer.
He sat himself right in front of me, then I sat too, but trying to distance our bodies a little.
"Can you stop looking at me like that?, is kind of" I swallowed "creepy" I asked referring to the glance he had taken on me, which seemed not to end. "Sorry, is just that I can't stop looking at your beautiful eyes" He said as he smiled.
I couldn't stop looking at his either, but I didn't let him notice, instead I just rolled my eyes and said: "They're just common brown eyes".
"They're brown, right, but not common, they're so shiny and sparkling, and they have a little bit of green too, making kind of a honey color, something I've never seen in a pair of brown eyes before" He described, surprisingly serious, comming closer to get a better view of my eyes.
