Gym locker rooms are where people of binary genders go to change in and out of gym clothes. This is an obvious problem if you're non-binary, transgender, bigender, pangender, etc. It involves being naked in front of cisgender and possibly transphobic people, and if your not a binary gender, where do you go?
1. You could ask to change in the nurse's office bathroom or the principal's bathroom.
Cons: Will involve coming out to nurse and possibly gym teacher. They will probably call your parents, but you could ask them not to. Other kids might wonder where you change and where you go, therefore they might assume your queer.
2. You could come to school wearing your gym clothes in gym days.
Cons: People might ask why your wearing gym clothes. You could reply with "So I don't have to waste time changing." Or people might just assume you're an athletic person.
3. Don't go to gym. This isn't the best solution, but you could make an excuse for when you're feeling lots of dysphoria. You could say you feel nauseous, you have a headache, you could pretend to throw up, get "lost" in school and pretend you can't find the gym.
Cons: People will catch on eventually. Gym counts for your grade, so absences won't look good. You will be lying, and it could make you feel immense guilt.
