“The food is already served, Alexandra...” Bahagyang napangiwi si Brad nang makita ang ayos ng babae. Nakahiga pa rin ito sa malapad na kama at hindi niya maipaliwanag ang nakalarawan sa magandang mukha nito.
He silently winced as he saw her handcuffed arms. He hated to do that to her but he just didn’t want to give her a chance to escape. Lalo na kapag tulog siya.
He took the keys and walked towards her. He unlocked the handcuffs and let her go. Tahimik lamang ang babae at hindi umiimik. Mukhang malalalim ang iniisip nito. May kinalaman pa ba ito sa nangyari kanina?
“I’m sorry...” Aniya pagkatapos itong pakawalan.
She didn’t answer. Tiningnan lamang nito ang mga kamay.
“Gusto mo munang maligo?” Tanong niya habang ibinabalik sa drawer ang handcuffs at ang bakal na chain.
That was the only time that she gazed at him. “Puwede ba?” She sounded sarcastic.
“Go ahead...” He just shrugged his shoulders. “May malinis na towel sa loob ng banyo. Nandiyan din ang mga damit na puwede mong isuot.”
Tahimik lamang na pumasok sa banyo si Alexandra. He just looked at him as she closed the bathroom door. Magkasalubong ang mga kilay niya.
He can sense that something was going on with her.
Mga ilang minuto pa lamang ito sa loob ng banyo nang muling bumukas ang pintuan. She didn’t take a bath. Kung ano ang ayos nito nang pumasok ay iyon din nang makita niya itong lumabas.
“I have to go home, Brad...” She said in a serious voice. Her face was stoic.
His eyebrows cocked. “What is this, Alexandra? We have a deal—“
“I need to go home, Brad,” she cut him off. She really meant it this time.
“Why?” Iyon na lamang ang nasabi niya.
“I have to check something important. And this can’t wait.” Naglakad ito palabas ng silid niya. Based from the serious stance in her face, she was unstoppable.
“Wait! You can’t go without me.” Kaagad na sinundan niya ito.
Hindi siya nito pinansin. Hindi ito lumilingon at diretso lamang sa paglalakad. “Alexandra!” Pababa na sila ngayon sa hagdan.
She stopped when she was out of the house. Sinuyod nito ng paningin ang paligid. “Where’s my bigbike?” She asked.
“We will use my car...” Sa halip ay wika niya.
“I will use my bigbike, Brad. Where is it?”
“No! We’ll use my car. You can’t go without me, Alexandra.” Matatag na wika niya. If she wanted to go home, fine! Mukhang importante ang sadya nito. Pero hindi ito makakaalis nang hindi siya kasama.
She cursed. She looked hardly at him. Sinalubong niya ang titig nito. Nakipagsukatan silang dalawa. Maya-maya ay napamura na naman ito. “Fine!” She hissed.
He didn’t care if she was just coerced. He wouldn’t budge. She would have to follow him.
“Let’s go!” Naiinis na wika nito.
“Good!”He held her wrist and pulled her towards his vintage volvo. “Hop in!”
Walang imik na sumakay ito sa kotse niya. Kaagad na lumigid siya sa driver’s seat at bumusina ng ilang ulit. Nagkukumahog na lumabas ng bahay ang isa sa mga katulong.
