Chapter 9

“Alexandra!” Napabalikwas ng bangon si Brad nang maalimpungatan. He had a very bad dream. Umalis daw si Alex at iniwan siya.

At ganoon na lamang ang pagsalakay ng matinding pag-aalala sa dibdib niya nang makitang wala sa tabi niya ang babae. She was beside him last night when he fell asleep. But he was alone in the bed now.

Nasaan si Alexandra?

Kaagad na napatalon siya sa kama. Well, she might be in the bathroom. Mabilis pa sa alas kuwatro na pumunta siya sa banyo upang i-check iyon. Pero wala roon ang dalaga.

His chest pounded heavily now. He didn’t know why he was scared. He wasn’t expecting that he will feel this way. But damn, he was afraid to lose Alex. Just the mere thought of not seeing her again drove him mad.

Sa nakalipas na mga araw ay nasanay na siyang kasa-kasama ito. She was a constant companion. And he had never been this close to a woman for a long time that he developed a sudden connection. He felt as if they had been together for a long time now and that they already knew each other so much even if they just met.

He went out of the room to look for her. He needed to find her. Hindi ito puwedeng umalis. Ngayon pa lamang ay puno na nang kalungkutan ang damdamin niya.

His life was boring for the last four years. But when she popped in his life, suddenly, it became interesting. She filled his life with so much adventure, joy and some other things that he couldn’t name. Basta naging kakaiba ang buhay magmula nang makilala niya ito. Kaya hindi ito puwedeng umalis.

The house was quiet and it was quite eerie. Mas lalo tuloy niyong naragdagan ang pag-aalala at agam-agam sa dibdib niya. Pinagbawalan niya ito kagabi na patuloy na sumabak sa misyon nilang dalawa. Sinabi niyang siya na lamang ang kikilos. He might have made her upset because of that. Damn! Sana naman ay hindi. Sana naman ay hindi ito umalis at tumakas.

Wala si Alex sa mga silid na tiningnan niya. He was about to go downstairs when he passed by the verandah. At ganoon na lamang ang sayang pumuno sa damdamin niya nang makita ang pigura ng babaeng nakatayo roon at nakatunghay sa magandang tanawing nakikita sa verandah.

The cabin house was built on a hill and one can see the vast banana plantation from where she was standing at.

“Alexandra!” He wasn’t able to hide the excitement and relief in his voice upon seeing her. Sa malalaking mga hakbang ay lumapit siya rito at mahigpit na niyakap ang babae.

Thank God, she was still here!

She felt warm and soft in his hands and he knew that she was real. Mas lalo pa niyang hinapit ang katawan nito palapit sa kanya. The thought that she didn’t leave erased all the turmoils in his heart.

“Brad...” She whispered his name softly and it was like music to his ears.

Niluwagan niya ang pagkakayakap sa babae. His one hand cupped her chin and angled her face so she could look at him. And their eyes met. He always loved staring at her slanted eyes. But her eyes held so much power over him. They were full of mysteries that he wanted to unravel. He wanted to see her soul and to know her innermost feelings. He wanted her. All of her.
