Chapter 12; They Have Curiosity For A Silenced Ride

     His hair was a mess, as usual. His eyes looked bored with everything and held a dark past. They reminded Cameira of her own eyes, her own mind.

     Farris Taire stood in front of her, his arms limp at his sides and his mouth open to speak. Cameira flicked her gaze to Bri who was now making her way over to Kai.

     "We're going to have to be civil, Michelle Obama," Farris' words brought her attention back to him. She grimaced.

     "I don't want to."

     "Why do you hate me, a stranger, so badly?"

     "You helped kill my aunt? You brought me back into this shithole of a city? I was perfectly content with staying out there for the rest of this pointless life. Then you came along and fucked that all up."

     "You could have went back. Why did you stay here if you didn't want to leave? Why did you drive me all the way back out here? I could have taken one of the cars and driven myself."

     Cameira was silent. She didn't have an answer.

     "I see you've taken a liking to Kai. Stayed out in the car all night?"

     "My baby was vulnerable."

     "Kai or the car?" He raised an eyebrow as he looked up at her on the trunk of her car.

     "The car, you idiot," she hissed out, petting the red metal of the trunk. She still held Kai's shirt in her other hand.

     His eyes moved to the shirt in her hand. Kai let out a loud laugh, making Cameira turn her gaze to him and Sabrina quickly. Sabrina was staring at him with a deep blush on her face and he leaned forward, using his hand to support himself as he laughed.

     Sabrina met Cameira's gaze but then she looked over to Farris. Cameira took her lead and looked over to Farris. He had a knowing smile on his lips.

     Sabrina, what did you do?

     Kai looked up at Cameira after he calmed down and made his way over to her with Sabrina following shortly behind.

     "Let's go," he spoke so calmly as he looked at Cameira, "I'll give you directions and I'm sure Farris can run inside to get food for all of us so we don't have to break into Sabrina's stash quite yet."

     Farris had run off as soon as Kai finished. Cameira watched as he went, then looked over to Sabrina, "You didn't screw him, did you?"

     Sabrina looked to the ground and shifted on her feet on her feet, then looked up with a smile. She opened her mouth to speak but Cameira cut her off.

     "You did, didn't you?"

      Her smile sank away and she raised both her hands in a sarcastic way, "Do you know me, Cami?"

    Cameira smiled and nodded her head before leaning back onto the windshield, "No, you wouldn't. Did you have a mishap with a vacuum on your neck then?"

     She stifled, "I.. I uh um.."

     A laugh was heard and Cameira tilted her head to examine more, "Multiple times?"

     Kai laughed again, and moved to lean against the trunk. Sabrina was still silent with a face that was even more red than ten thousand bottles of ketchup painting a billboard.

     "Tell her what you told me, Bri."

     Sabrina shook her head, "F-fu.. He showed me around and uh.. yep."
