"Hey Ashley."
I turned around in my desk and was face to face with the most popular girl in school, Joy.
"Me?" I asked, uncertain if there was another Ashley nearby.
"Yes. I'm having a party tonight if you want to come."
I looked at her in disbelief. Joy wanted me to come to her house. This was the first kind word she had said to me in years.
I looked at Laura, who shook her head. She pulled out a piece of paper and started to write on it.
