(Josh's POV)
"We're home!" Paisley announced into the large house with a smile only to get the sound of many paws scrambling to see their owner. Quickly I pushed the door shut just as the pups rounded the corner. Jessica had dropped them off from their school earlier this morning. Smiling I watched Paisley drop to the floor, disappearing in puppies and one big wolf. Soon enough Wolf was bored of Paisley and came over to me, sniffing to make sure I was still me and not some other man in her house. Yeah you heard that right. Wolf does NOT like men who enter the house. Not even Chris, Mike, or Matt.
"C'mon doggos let's get some food." I laughed out as Paisley started to army crawl away from the pups who were nipping and licking at her face and body. Yips and a bark were my response as I dropped my hospital bag and walked to the kitchen, dishing out food for the puppies and Wolf. Once I was finished I pulled my phone from my pocket. It was barely 10 in the morning.
"Baby!" Paisley called from upstairs. Locking my phone I slipped it into my back pocket and traveled up the stairs.
"What's up babe." I asked as I wrapped my arms around her little waist. Instead of saying anything she just pointed to Hannah's and Beth's rooms. Squinting I let go of her waist and walked forward a little. Both doors were padlocked shut. Quickly I pulled out my phone and called my mother.
"Hello?" She finally answered after four rings.
"What the hell is on my sisters' doors?" I growled angrily as I walked up to Beth's and shook the padlock hard enough for the lock to bang and the door to shake. She stayed quiet. "Answer me! You know for a fact that there is stuff in there that I need to see to remember what I did!" I screamed. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes before a small hand took my phone and hung up. Closing my eyes I refused to look at Paisley.
"Hey...look at me." Her small fingers grabbed my chin and pulled it down forcing me to look down at her tiny frame wrapped up in pajamas. As I opened my eyes I felt a cold tear drip down my face, only making it halfway before a tiny thumb wiped it away. "You did not do it. Their lives were taken to do another job not because you had a good time." Her voice was soft and comforting. "Okay?" I nodded slightly. "Alright good. Now let's get some real clothes on and go check out the house I scheduled a tour for."
Squinting I watched her walk away, giggling. When had she set up a house tour? Did she know I was getting out today? Does she just have secret meetings about stuff she won't tell me about until 15 minutes before we leave? Shaking my head I went to get dressed so we could leave. Once finished I met my beautiful girlfriend at the door.
"This is the house where we are going to tour." Paisley murmured softly as she pulled up a picture on her phone and showed it to me.
Smiling I told her I liked it making her smile before she grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder. Before leaving she made sure I didn't bust a stitch when I got mad. Thankfully I hadn't. I smiled as I followed her out of the house. She was such a good girlfriend to me. She checked my stitches, convinced me to take my medicine in the morning, made sure I was okay, and she was having my baby. She's just...incredible.
Climbing into the car I waited for her to start the car before taking her hand. She looked beautiful today, just like everyday. She wore her long black hair in soft curls that reached her hips along with a short black dress, her velvet choker, and pumps. Looking up at her face I noticed the headband I had bought her was placed in her hair. Her nails were white with gold tips, a fully gold coverage on her ring finger. That's where her 'engagement' ring sat too. Silently I stroked the ring with my thumb. Maybe I should propose to her.
The ride to the house was quiet. Not like an awkward silence but a comforting silence. It took us about a half an hour to get there but neither of us cared. I'd rather drive a half an hour here and back multiple times a day to move than stay in my parent's home any longer. As I was thinking of our life in our new home I realized not only had Paisley stopped the car but she had also stepped out, my hand still in hers as she leaned forward.
"Oh shit sorry." I apologized as I let go. Laughing she closed her door as I got out and we met around the front of the car. Smiling she took my hand in hers before leading me up the walkway, it was quite big. Once at the front door we were met by a woman dressed in professional clothing. I could feel her stare on my bandaged cheek before Paisley cleared her throat and the woman's eyes snapped to her.
"Oh hello." She greeted softly. "My name is Kristy Wethers but you can just call me Kristi. I'm the realtor of this house. Are you Paisley and Josh Washington?" The woman looked down at a clipboard for a second.
"Yes. Nice to meet you." Paisley smirked, her nails slightly digging into my skin as Kristy's eyes wandered back to my cheek. Gently I rubbed my thumb in hearts over the back of her hand. No need to fight everyone who looks at me wrong, princess.
