(Paisley's POV)

Smiling softly I trailed my fingers over the racks and racks of itty bitty clothes. They were so soft and cute. Dropping my arms I turned back to where Josh was holding a small piece of clothing in his big hands. Walking back over I noticed he was holding a small grey onsie that had a bear on it that said 'BABY'.

"Aww!" I cooed softly as I saw Josh smiling down at it. "We're definitely getting this." Cheering softly Josh hung the small onsie on the side of the cart. "You have a great eye for cute baby clothes." Smiling Josh kissed my cheek before going back to the racks of small clothes while I walked over to where the carseats and strollers were displayed. I couldn't help but smile as I imagined our sweet little bundle of joy cuddled up in a carseat.

All of them were super cute but i didn't want to choose my favorite just yet. I wanted to be safe and check the reviews before buying one. Smiling I took notes of which ones I liked and their prices on my phone so I could check their reviews online later when we got back home. I tried my best to keep my mind gender neutral but I kept drifting over to pink, girly things more than little boy stuff. I knew Josh thinks the baby is a girl too but I didn't want to buy anything super girly just in case we had a boy instead. As I walked around I kept one hand on my bump. I don't know why but it just felt safer to keep my hand there. Like my little baby would protect me from anything.

"Paisley." Jumping slightly I noticed Josh waving his hand in front of my face, looking very confused. "Are you okay? You've been standing here for like ten minutes rubbing your belly and staring at that." Looking back up I noticed I had been staring at a smiling baby on an advertisement the whole time.

"Yeah, I'm okay...just was thinking about our baby." I replied softly making Josh smile softly. I knew he wanted to smile bigger but the cotton in his mouth always made him cautious. It also takes up quite a bit of room. Shit, you try playing the chubby bunny challenge with cotton balls and cotton pads and tell me it doesn't feel weird to smile.

For the next few hours we spent our time picking out gender neutral baby items which included tons of different sizes of white onsies (I had insisted we get these as they were an essential for any baby at any age and that we could also do the 1 month to 1 year stickers on them), the stickers previously talked about, a mirror for the car (so the parents up front could see the baby), a bouncer that was too adorable to pass up, a couple tiny pacifiers that I fell in love with, some tan looking velvet baby hangers, and some crib sheets that had elephants on them that I actually snuck into the cart while Josh wasn't looking and then maniacally giggled when he found them in our bags. I couldn't help but smile as I placed everything in the baby's closet. The room wasn't painted or had any furniture in it but it would soon be a nursery. We were waiting until we knew the gender to pick out a design but I already had been on pinterest picking out room designs I liked. Josh had fallen in love with them too.

Just looking at pictures of new mom's with their babies or nursery pictures made my heart flutter. In a couple of months I'd get to hold my baby and Josh would get to meet his, as he calls the baby, itty bitty little baby. However, as much as I wanted to know the baby's gender and get to meet him or her, I didn't really want him or her to be born anytime soon. I wanted to keep this baby as close to me as I could. I didn't want anyone else to hold the baby, I didn't want anyone else to speak to my baby, I didn't want anyone else to look at my baby. This was my baby. Well, mine and Josh's but I was already so protective of him or her. Sighing I sat on the floor of the nursery and ran my hands over the plush carpet.

"You okay?" I hadn't realized I was crying until Josh interrupted my thoughts. Quickly I wiped away my tears and nodded before getting up. "Come on, let's go order some Taco John's and watch Jurassic World." Smiling I hugged the tall boy tightly before letting him lead me to the living room.

A/N -- I know this chapter came out super late and I had promised a bigger chapter but the way I wanted the story to progress means this chapter has to be short (under 1,000 words) for the next one to be the gender reveal party which will hopefully be about 4-5 google doc pages long and hopefully make up for the no updates. In the meantime....WHAT DO YOU THINK THE GENDER IS? I think it's a unicorn.
