Mark stands in the doorway. Stale’s hand falls at my side. I don’t distance myself from Stale at all and he doesn’t move either.
“Grab your shit and get in the car.” Mark orders me. I can see he’s pissed. He has the same look on his face that he does when he loses. I don’t respond to his orders at first, but I realize that my fun is up.
I don’t look at Mark or Stale as I grab my bag and walk out the door. I wanted to say something to Stale, but I didn’t want to make more of a scene.
I walk to the car with Mark trailing behind me. He gets in the drivers seat. I sit on the passenger’s side with my arms crossed. I’m acting like a pouty child whose parent said they couldn’t have another piece of candy.
Mark stays silent with his lips pursed tightly together. I roll my eyes at his pissy face. Yeah maybe I shouldn’t have left the party, but he still ditched me first. I’m the one who gets to be mad here.
“Fuck you.” Mark says randomly. My jaw actually drops at this. I look over at him, but he keeps his eyes on the road.
“Excuse me?” I finally say.
“Do you even understand what you’ve done?”
“I’ve done nothing.” Now Mark’s jaw drops.
“Kimmy, you left without telling anyone where you were. I called you dozens of times and nothing. I thought you were hurt or something.” Mark half shouts at me.
“How long did it take you to notice I was gone?” I say calmly.
“Is that why you bailed? So fucking immature.”
“No. I’m just wondering how long you were worried for. I left the party..oh four hours ago and you just now found me.” Mark tries to think of a retort. I can see the frustration in his face. I want to cry now because I’m realizing that he hadn’t noticed my absence at all. “Did Craig tell you I was gone?”
Mark doesn’t respond and that answers my question. For four hours I was gone and my boyfriend didn’t even fucking know.
“I’m sorry, Keeks.” Mark finally says. This time I don’t respond.
