DANIEL POV:

It had been a few weeks since we watched Carl and Judith, Rick had came back with a prosthetic leg like he had promised me. And I had gotten used to using it.

Jesus had worked it out with Rick that I was going to be staying in the Hilltop for a few weeks. Just long enough to help out up there with training people. And I had gotten here a couple days ago.

Rosita was going to be staying in Alexandria, and I wasn't sure how that would work out. Whenever we were apart for a couple days it honestly seemed like we would be starting right back over as soon as we were back around each other.

But this time she said she was fine with me going here. Which bothered me somewhat. There was no her trying to convince me to stay in Alexandria. No her trying to come to the Hilltop with me. She was just fine.

For while I was in the Hilltop, I was staying with Jesus. Who didn't mind my presence at all. Maggie and Enid were regularly over at Jesus' place too.

"So Jesus told me you were worried about being away from Rosita?" Maggie asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It just seems like there's always some wall she's keeping up, and whenever one of us is gone for a while there's ten more walls between us whenever we're back." I said, shrugging.

Maggie nodded, "You all will be fine, Daniel. She really cares about you."

TIME SKIP

The call had come out from the guards on the tower that the Alexandrians had showed up, and I left my fighting class that I was currently helping with and headed toward the gate.

It had turned out that coming here and helping teach the fighting classes had actually been a help to me. I had needed more practice on my new leg, needed more than just walking around Alexandria. I still limped slightly but it was a lot less noticeable to me than it had been when I first showed up here a couple weeks ago.

As soon as I got up to the gate, I saw Rick, Aaron, and Michonne. Aaron looked over and smiled at me.

"Hey, how are you doing?" He asked, walking over.

"Its pretty good. It feels kinda good to be here, helping people learn how to fight." I said, nodding.

He nodded, "Rosita headed over to Maggie's place."

I nodded, smiling. "Thanks." I said, walking off to where Maggie lived. I stopped outside the house and waited a few minutes before walking up and knocking on the door.

I heard Maggie's voice come from the inside, "Come in!"

I opened the door and saw Maggie and Rosita sitting in the living room, I smiled. "Hey,"

Rosita looked over, "Hey. I was getting ready to come find you." She said, standing up. "You want to go outside and talk?"

She grabbed a hold of my arm and pulled me outside of the door, Maggie shooting her a look before we walked out. After we had gotten a few feet away from the house, Rosita stopped walking and turned around to face me.

"I don't think we should be together anymore." She said, crossing her arms across her chest.

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We shouldn't be together. You need to be here helping people, and I need to be back in Alexandria. We both need to be getting ready to whatever fight comes up next. But not together."
