DANIEL POV:

The four words stopped me dead in my tracks. I kept staring ahead at the trees in front of me.

"I was pregnant and I wasn't sure how to tell you, that's why when you came here I was almost happy. Cause then I didn't have to tell you for a while. Then I lost it and I couldn't tell you."

I turned around and found Rosita looking down at the ground with her arms crossed. "I'm sorry. I wish I had known."

"I wish I had told you." She said, "I told Maggie. Maggie told me I should tell you. I knew I should've. But then I decided I couldn't. And I told you to stay here, that we were over."

"Ro-" was all I got out before I fell and hit the ground.

TIME SKIP

"The doctor from the Kingdom thinks he probably had some head trauma from the hit. He shouldn't have been up walking."

"Is he going to be okay?"

"Doc said he looks okay. I don't know what else to tell you, Rosita. He's alive for now is all the doctor could tell us. We're lucky he was able to make the trip here."

"I feel like shit. We were arguing, if we hadn't been argued he would've came back here when we first suggested it. He wouldn't have wanted to go back to the Hilltop."

"That could be true, but we'll never know. You can't think like that. All I can say at this point though is just keep doing what we've been doing for the past couple days. Sit here and keep an eye on him."

No matter what I did I couldn't wake up. I could only lay there and listen and contemplate. Rosita had been pregnant and I hadn't noticed anything. I should've noticed something.

"Daniel, come on. You gotta wake up. You have to."

TIME SKIP

I finally got my eyes open. I looked around the room and saw that no one was in here with me. I heard talking outside of the room, and when the door opened it revealed Maggie and Jesus.

They both had a relieved look flash across their faces when they saw me looking at them.

"Dan, you're okay." Jesus said, smiling.

"You're awake." Maggie said, sitting on the side of the bed and placing her hand on my arm.

"Hey," I said, my voice barely audible. "Where's Rosita?"

Maggie glanced back at Jesus, who cleared his throat. "She's at her house. She left a little while ago. Said she needed some air and that if anything changed for someone to come and get her."

"I still don't know what to do." I said, sitting up straighter in the bed. "She didn't tell me she was pregnant."

Maggie patted my arm. "I know. I know it's hard. You're just now having to process everything. She's had a while to process what all happened."
