ASHLEIGH’S P.O.V
As time went by, Jacob and I grew closer, I have made a bond with this strange human being quicker than I should have. His open-minded, free-spirited persona played a very big role in that since I’m the shy and reserved one.
I looked at my hello kitty clock placed next to Jacob’s framed photo on my headboard.. I know what you are thinking, and no. Jacob had the audacity to change a few things in my room, like the photo for instance.
As tired as I was, I needed to wake up for school. 06:30, the time read, I climbed off bed as fast as I could, my pulse increasing with every single step I took. “Jacob did himself a huge favour moving his sleeping place because he would have been broken into pieces by now” I thought to myself. Late, I’m late, again, for the hundredth time, I need help, or perhaps a time keeper or maybe I just need Jesus.
“ okay guys, turn to page 143 please, today’s lesson is based on snell’s law, if you went through your notes during the weekend then this should be like a piece of candy to you” Mrs Scherzinger said, she was an Asian lady with very tall, dark hair, brown eyes and a curvy body
Candy? Nobody compares physics to candy!! Well you know what they say about Asians and their IQ? Maybe it is candy to some people.
“What is she talking about?” Denise confusingly asked,
“Of cause you do not know Denise” I whispered to her,
“ okay class, it looks like Ms Denise and Ms Lockridge here have something to say, let us give them a chance” Mrs S implied, with that killer smile she always wears,
“uh n-no ma’am, Denise here was just explaining snail’s law to me” I replied, with regret, but I had to stand up and be selfish for once.
“Snell, you meant. okay class, I am guessing we will leave today’s lesson to Ms Denise, she obviously knows more than I do, so please let us all give her a chance” she said as she sat down and grabbed a cup of tea with both her hands as if it was too heavy for her.
A few seconds later, Jacob stood up to save Denise from embarrassing herself in front of everyone; he took a blue marker and wrote “Snell’s law” on the white board with his clumsy handwriting, then underlined it. All I can tell you is, he would make a great teacher, but he should never consider going in that path, because you can never pay attention when a sexy silhouette is right in front of you, and I can assure you that I wasn’t the only one not paying attention to whatever Jacob was saying about Snail, or Snell.
The rest of my classes revolved around theory, solving for x, Denise being a pain in the ass, and more theory.
After all our classes were over, Jacob and I did what we always do, we went to sit in one of the benches at the garden, where the sun perfectly hit the spot, the atmosphere was so pure that you could feel it in your bones, the flowers were well taken care of, thanks to Mr S.
“ so I’m leaving soon, any last words?” I said as I placed a glass of apple juice on the table, nervously biting my lip, because I had a question going through my head, do I still want to leave? . as I had said, Jacob and I grew closer, I can trust him with everything and he feels the same way, we have had the deepest conversations in the history of conversations, we have opened up to each other about everything, excluding our feelings.
Jacob took a while to respond, and that was much understood, he took a deep breath before asking “do you still want to leave?? ”. Perfect!!, he asked that question, just perfect!!
“ I don’t know Jake, I am really just torn, but I don’t want to fail the Wilsons, I have to- “
“ I don’t want you to, you don’t have to” he exhaled after saying that statement, as if it took everything out of him to say it. I did not reply back, and this resulted in the change of the pure atmosphere, it was becoming dull this time, still affecting my bones.
“You don’t come into someone’s life, make them love you, then leave them just like that, you don’t do that!” he just confessed his love for me, and I was not surprised at all, although he never said it, his actions said everything, the way he looked at me concluded it all.
“I- I did not mean any of that Jacob, you knew from the day you came here that I was leaving soon, and you led yourself to this” I tried my hardest not to let him change my mind. It was too late to change the choice I had made, and I wanted a family very bad.
“ just promise you will never forget me”
“ I’ll call you everyday if I have to”
“ promise?”
“ I promise, but I can’t promise that I’ll change my mind about your obsession for green tea”
“oh come onn, loosen up, that thing is good” he finally smiled, it is that easy to make him smile, talk about green tea after making him mad and it is like his head cannot think of anything else
“ well you still have Kevin..and Denise”
“de- yeah, ofcause” he stuttered
“ what?” I had to ask
“ no its just that. It won’t be the same, you know, the-they are not you”
I threw him a smile, he noticed that I knew something was wrong, so I did not want to make him uncomfortable by asking, instead I took another sip of my juice. It is better than green tea anyway, so why not.

“ are you sure this is everything?” Jacob asked as he placed the last suitcase at the door, looking around the already-empty room, almost everything was gone, even his photo that was placed on my headboard, “ yes mr Perez, thank you” I saluted him.
“ you know I don’t like that stare” I snapped him back to reality, he did not say anything back, instead, he did something that I always wanted him to do, he pressed his lips against mine. It was so passionate and full of emotion, to say it was amazing would be an underestimate, it was everything I have been longing for, those juice lips against mine, that was everything.
After a few good seconds, we finally let go “that-i-I have t-to go” I said as I licked my lips, nervously, failingly trying to cover up my red cheeks, and I noticed that he was doing the same.
