{Narrator POV}

Draco Malfoy was scared. He'd told his mother he was going to Diagon Alley with his friends when in reality he was going with his cousin and Nathan Diggory. Draco was so thankful for Delania. She'd done so much for him already and was one of the only people in the school who called him by his first name.

"Mother! I'm leaving." He shouted through to her bedroom before almost running downstairs and out of his house. Narcissa met him just outside.

"Don't get lost darling. Stay close to Delania." She told him whilst trying to straighten his shirt. Draco froze.

"How do you know I'm going with her?" He questioned. Narcissa sighed.

"Draco, you can't keep everything a secret. Delania Black is your cousin, I always loved Sirius but because of our family feud it was impossible to talk to him without being judged. I don't want the same thing to happen to you."

"Thank you, mum." Draco gave Narcissa a hug and ran downstairs shouting goodbye to his father who was Godric knows where and slamming the door shut behind him.

Lucius Malfoy was in the big drawing room. He, however, had no idea where his son was going or with who. Which was probably like most things, a good thing.

"What about the girl, my Lord?" Lucius asked cowardly.

The dark figure in front of him shifted slightly. "She, like her father, will be of use to us. But we will need him first."

"And what do you propose of the girl." Lucius asked again.

"She will be of great use to us. All we have to do is hold her dear father captive and she'll do anything for us. I want her to be one of us, do you know what she is Lucius? She is an animagus, she can fit in places we could never dream of, she can tarnish households by begging for food. Because she, like her father, is a cheating dog! But she is also her mothers daughter, I'm sure you're aware of that seeing as she's your niece." The figure turned to Lucius. "Do you remember your sisters patronus?"

Lucius thought hard. "A pheonix."

"Yes, she'll have it too and witches or wizards that can conjure a pheonix patronus are very powerful, that's why we need her on our side." The man swing his cloak to face Lucius. "Do you understand?"

Lucius nodded. "Yes, my Lord."

"Then get me Sirius Black!"

"You never told me we were going with Draco." Nathan scolded Delania for keeping secrets from him, but this one had crossed the line completely.

Delania huffed at her friend. "He's my cousin, his dad is my mums twin brother and you expect me to blank him. Unlike other Nathan, I care not about his family because I am one of them." She was almost shouting now as she'd had to explain this dozens of times.

"One of what?" Nathan asked, still clueless.

"A Malfoy! I am a Malfoy!"

Nathan's head dropped. "Oh yeah, sorry." Then he walked over to her. "How was your mum?"

"Good, apart from the fact not even she likes the man she's living with. She told me a lot about my parents background." Delania explained to Nathan. Nathan saw how down Delania was and decided to calm himself down for her.

"Shall we head off?" He asked her taking her coat off the hanger and handing it to her. She smiled and off they went. They entered through the pub wall as usual and the smell of the cobble streets and old fashioned shops hit them as they walked through.

"Where is he waiting for us?" Nathan asked, straightening his scarf. When he turned to look for Delania, she was gone. "Nia?"

He stopped her standing outside an old shop on the corner near Ollivanders. As Nathan got closer the 'for sale' sign had disappeared and had been replaced by a 'sold' sign. Delania had a big smile on her face.

"They bought it, this is going to be the twins shop when they leave next year." Delania said to Nathan. The next few moment we're spent with them both staring at the shop and visualising how bright and noisy it would be when George and Fred opened it up in a few years.

"You two just standing there?" They were interrupted by a voice behind them.

"Draco!" Delania was first over to her cousin, she hugged him tight and couldn't wait to tell him all about his aunt. Nathan cleared his throat and edged forward.

"Draco." He stuck his hand out and Draco smiled sheepishly, wondering whether he should take it or not, but he did. A flood of relief entered the both of them, maybe they wouldn't have to pretend to be something they weren't today.

"Right, where do we go first?" Draco asked the pair of them.

"Hmm, I'd say to the bookshops to get you your new books." Delania said. "What'd you say, Nathan?"

Nathan nodded and the three of them were off.

Hours later and they'd dropped into a pub for a drink before making their way home. Nathan offered to get drinks and so Draco found a table with his cousin and sat down.

"So... Nathan kind of told me about your mum." Draco said nervously. "My aunt? I never knew my dad had a twin."

Delania scoffed. "Yeah, that's cause she wasn't like him."

"But I just wish he'd at least said something."

"Draco, your O.W.Ls are next year you need to focus and ignore your family."

Draco fidgeted in his seat. He knew his cousin was right but was scared of what was coming. "I know." Was all he responded with. The next few moment were in silence. Draco thought he should tell Delania about the evil wizard currently using his house as a bed and breakfast. Or more of a hotel. He decided against it, either she would go mad and tell everyone and his parents would end up in Azkaban, or she'd leave and never speak to him again.

Draco couldn't and would never be able to imagine how much worse he'd be feeling if it weren't for Delania. He says it to himself all the time but he can't help it. She's less of a cousin more of a sister.

"Delania, here's your butterbeer. And Draco..." Nathan came back and smiled at the boy. Draco couldn't help but think maybe the Hufflepuff was starting to understand as well.
