I don't know if anyone else thinks this, but I feel like the authors that say: "and remember, I won't update until I get 15 votes and 10 comments!" ,lack about 99% common sense.

What? Why? You are forcing your readers to do something just for your own pleasure. If they don't want to vote, then they don't want to. If they don't want to comment, then they don't want to comment. Gather. Up. Your. Shit.

There may be reasons behind why the readers don't want to comment. Maybe they don't want anyone to reply to their comment which will send them an email. And their parents will see it. The comment might have cuss words in it. They might have curry parents who are strict (I know what its like) and they will get in trouble. Just because you want a freaking comment on your story.

Votes are a different story. I get it, votes help you rise as well as reads. But aren't the reads enough? I mean, if you have 3k reads and 1k votes, why the hell do you need more? Thats  just telling me you are greedy and selfish. It does not mean you should keep your readers waiting just for your satisfaction.
