"Pearl, you and Amethyst have to go search for the yellow corrupted gem." Garnet told Pearl.

Ruby! You see the future as well as I when we're fused, why would you do that!?!

There are 3 possibilities, not just the one you're thinking of!

Well you better hope it was the third one.

The three possibilities were:

If Amethyst and Pearl go on a mission, Pearl's gem will crack, and Amethyst will poof.

If Amethyst and Pearl go on a mission, Pearl's gem will get shattered and Amethyst's gem will crack.

If Amethyst and Pearl go on a mission, Pearl will poof and Amethyst will be perfectly fine.

"Garnet! You're back!" Steven shouted, finally noticing Garnet was back from her solo mission. A the time, Steven was 9, so he didn't have any powers, and he didn't know Connie, so, no Stevonnie, guys. "Don't trip." Garnet said. Too late, he tripped right on his face. "I'm alright!" He got up and hugged Garnet.
