***C.C sorry this was so late! It will probably happen again. Oops*****

(Minka)

I walked out of my small manor, feeling the crisp morning air sting my face. Waiting for my ride to school was a lot more nerving then you would think it is. I'm a heavenly angel, you see. If I'm found out, the queen would cut my head off in front of the whole kingdom. But not before she tortures me, making me wish she killed me the day  she caught me. Anyone that catches a heavenly angel would be given special treatment and wouldn't get imprisoned. It was kind of a reason for people  to do the queen's dirty work for her. The wind picked up creating a curtain of my hair to sweep over my face tickling my nose and cheeks. My green tee shirt and jeans blew along with wind only to being held back because it was around my body.

Now let me get this straight for all the retards out there, everyone lives in twenty-first century. The only thng we have from the past is the manors, the the knights, and the bitchy queen. My ride was with my best  friend in the whole wide world, Skylar. My best friend that was going to get his ass kicked by an angel if he did didn't hurry up! He was one of the three that knew of my secret.

Two knights walked a few yards away by the main road. I tensed up. This was it. This was my last day. I stole another look at these knights to know if I truly had to be scared. They both looked at me with sympathy swimming through their eyes. Relief washed over me in a wave of white heat that flowed from my chest to my feet.

One was a shape shifter,  the other was a pari. The shifter (in this form) had brown hair and big brown, carmel eyes. This knight, I knew, was very humble but you never wanted to get near his bad side. His name was J.C Rama, but I just call him J.C. The pari (a beautiful fairy born from fire, if you didn't know) had his hair died red and orange. Not like his red eyes didn't say anything. He was one of the best warriors I have ever known, so you definitely did not want to get on his bad side. He was Madin. Just Madin, nothing but everything special. They help me control my power and hide my secret all too well. Working for Her made it even more difficult. I can understand that they can't do what I can do. But from what I have read in books at school I have learned as much as I can without revealing my secret.

I perabulated towards the knights, thinking that I would be welcomed with laughs, hello's and hugs like I always have. They didn't move, they just looked at each other. Worried, scared.

They're gay! I knew it!

Not that I could ever judge them, because why should I care what their sexuality is? I can finally have that sassy gay best friend.

J.C came over to me, looking sadder and sadder with every step he took. No, it wasn't sadness planted on his face. It was in fact worry, possibly regret. He was fiddling with a piece of paper in his hand. When he got to me he drew a breath and handed me a folded (and slightly damp) paper. He looked me deep in the eye and gathered my hands in his. Okay, maybe he isn't coming out of the closet. If he was, he was more or less (More very much more) creeping me out.

"You can't live here anymore. Meet us under Captar's bridge after you get out of school," he spoke to me in a soft voice. I could feel tears coming up behind my eyes, threatening to escape.

"What do you mean? I don't understand... Why not!" I more of demanded then asked.

Madin came over to us. He obviously was in on this and knew why I was in disarray. He put his arms around me trying to comfort me. I leaned into him, resting my head on his shoulder, letting only a few tears fall past my eyes. He put his head on mine and was rubbing my back. At this point I was silently crying into his shoulder. I don't like showing this emotion. It shows you're weak. Useless. I was so ashamed I hid my face into Madin's chest. I could feel someone else come up and hug me from behind. J.C. It took me several minutes to retain myself again. Though it felt like hours.

Madin, still having his arms around me, spoke first. "You need to know... What we're doing... It's for your own good. To protect you. That's all we want to do." He kissed the top of my head.

No one spoke or moved until Skylar pulled up to us in his grey 2010 Chevy Impala. Madin lifted his arms off of me to let me go. I shoved the note into my jean pocket so hopefully Skylar won't ask about it. Madin grabbed my arm before I could take two steps.

"Please, trust us and meet us under the Bridge. We need to talk to you."

I looked up at him, my eyes probably red. "I believe you." He pulled me over and kissed my cheek. "You never gave me a reason not to." Not yet. Not until later in the story.

He let me go again so this time I could actually get in the fugly car. Skylar looked at me in a mad disappointed way a mother would look at her child. Though I would never know, I never actually had one long enough.

"Please," I begged him, trying to not let anymore tears slip past uninvited. "Please, don't give me that look. I've had enough for today. Please, just don't."

His anger was replaced by concern. "What was the note you put in your pocket?"

So he did see it, dammit. I pulled it out and unfolded it. In smugged blue ink was written 'SHE KNOWS'. Just perfect.

This was the day everything turned to sand for me. Everything that I thought was solid and I could hold onto forever just slipped through my fingers.
