C.C I hope you like the ship!
(Minka)
This day (other than when I found J.C and Madin at my house) was the worst day anyone could think of. But, it was this or tortuous death. A life could only have so much pain to go through. I have watched hundreds and hundreds of my people die right in front of me. When their heads are cut off, I can't help myself, I have to look away. Anyone could hear the screams and the cries they make to our father. The ear splitting screeches of the young ones, the heart breaking pleads of the older. But, after all that does he listen? No! He sits all high and mighty watching his children die one by one. Brick by brick his castle is falling at Forenthia's feet. Does he care? NO! Does he fight back? NO!
NO! NO! NO! NO!
No... No, he doesn't...

Skylar and I were driving to Captar's Bridge. The music was blasting from the speakers, a stupid song that the lyrics sound like the singer ate a dictionary and started puking back random words up in an out of tune pitch. Oh, wait. It's Taylor Swift. l looked over at my best friend. His blond hair that was cut short shined in the sun rays peeking out from the dead colored clouds. His big blue and green eyes focused on the road trying not to upset me (or kill me).
"Why were you so mad at me this morning. You looked like you were going to kill me." I could not stand the silence any longer, plus it was a question that was killing me all day.
He didn't look over at me. Though, I wished he did. "I wasn't mad I was- " he stopped himself before he could say it.
"You were..?" I asked begging him to continue.
Was he feeling depressed? Loathing? Infuriated? Ornery? Revulsion? Repentance? Come on, it had to be something along those lines.
"I was... I was..." I know he knew what he was. He never liked admitting his emotions unless he felt comfortable about them. "I was something that was a reaction to all of emotions that was being displayed on the sidewalk in front of your former home."
"Well, I could have told you that. But was that 'something'?" He opened his mouth to give me his (most likely smart ass) answer. "And if you say 'reaction' or any other smart answer I'll slap you."
"I don't think I can tell you." That was his way of telling me to drop it but I was stubborn.
"You tell me everything. Skylar, you know you can trust me with anything. For my father's sake, you told me who your crush was in seventh grade."
The little water elemental sighed and turned to me. "Minks, you wouldn't understand. I want to tell you. But because of who you are I can't. So, please, just drop it."
What does he mean because of who I am? Because I'm a girl and I supposedly can't keep a secret?
I frowned and looked out of the window to find a pulchritudinous day. Yes, there were grey clouds. But in a beautiful environment even dead colors were vivacious and belonged in the landscape. I took everything in. A mental picture for when I'm upset and roused. The different types of trees and flowers flying past Skylar's car, the side walk and the smiles on the people's faces as they walk and talk together. A troll pretending to chase his little sister and her friends of many different species. His wrinkly green face and wild hair that looks like a bunch of sticks moving slowly to make the younger ones feel fast. His fake roars and growls caked in laughter inaudible from inside the car.
Moments like those can only last so long. After they happen it's just a ghost that makes us who we are. Nothing can change your past. no matter how much you try to erase it. You will know it was always there.
