Chapter Eight: Spilled Milk.
"So, can you hand me the flour?"
"What's flour?"
"Drei, for the sixth time. Flour is the blue bag. The light blue one."
"This one?" Drei held up the correct bag.
"Yes." (Y/N) nodded. "At least he knows colors..."
(Y/N) and Drei were in the kitchen having a cooking lesson. It was brought to the girl's attention that the journals don't know too much about a human being's day to day procedures and knowledge. (Y/N) wanted cookies (who doesn't?) and Drei asked what they were exactly.
Long story short, now they are standing in the kitchen, making cookies.
"Now can I get the sugar?"
Drei hesitated for a moment "Sugar is the gree-"
"Purple."
"-purple bag." Drei finished quickly. The boy had grown onto (Y/N)- that was for sure. He was almost a little brother to her. Eins was very curious with all the tasks everyone would preform; he even questioned the logic of photography- wrong move for Eins. Zwei was an interesting character to say the least. A constant flirt he was to everyone- except Mabel. At one point he tried a pick up line on her, leaving her to follow him and literally attaching herself to his leg. He still proves to be terrified.
Drei handed (Y/N) the purple bag as the girl reached for a measuring cup. She measures out two cups of sugar and dumped it into her mixing bowl.
"Alright. Let's do wet ingredients. Can I get the milk?"
"I KNOW WHAT THAT IS!" Drei shouted and ran to the fridge. Oh yeah- Drei has a strange obsession with milk.
Drei came scrambling back and set the milk on the counter. (Y/N) nodded, picking it up and pouring it into another measuring cup. Her concentration was suddenly interrupted.
"Hey, gorgeous." A pair of hands laid themselves on (Y/N)'s hips. The girl instantly jumped in surprise, dropping the carton of milk and measuring cup on the floor. Eyes wide in alarm, she went into defense mode. As she turned, (Y/N) slipped on the spilled milk.
(Y/N) looked up to her attacker through her (h/c) hair as her locks covered her face. Of course, it was Zwei.
Zwei was still trying to process what was happening- confusion was clear through his expression.
"Zwei, what the heck!" (Y/N) growled through clenched teeth.
The man shook his head back to reality. "U-um, my apologies?"
"THE MILK- NO!" Drei cried at the sight of the emptying carton.
(Y/N) fixed the milk upright and huffed. "Now I'm going to smell funky in an hour or so..." she grabbed the edge of the counter and pulled herself up. She moved her hair out of her face as she looked at the mess that Zwei had caused. Thankfully, only the floor was a disaster and the cookie-making surface was still as it should be.
"Uh..." Zwei scratched the back of his head. "Should I g-"
"No. You, sir," (Y/N) grabbed a roll of paper towels off the counter and tossed them at Zwei. "Are cleaning this up."
"Why?"
"Because you made the mess!"
"Correction, you made the mess. You were holding the milk." The man said as a matter of factly.
"You caused the mess." (Y/N) narrowed here eyes.
"But why? Can't we just leave it?"
"If it dries, it smells bad."
"Fine, fine." Zwei got on his knees and started soaking up the milk off the floor.
(Y/N) went back to making cookies. She looked at the recipe and then it occurred to herself: Where did Drei go? She looked around to see Drei cradling the milk jug. "Uh, Drei, I need that..."
"O-okay..." a look of hurt came upon his face.
"Just for a moment, okay?"
"Okay..."
(Y/N) carefully poured the milk this time (with no interruptions). She then put the milk back on the counter and looked back at the recipe. "Three eggs.." she read aloud.
"At least I get a good view from down here." Zwei randomly added.
(Y/N) scowled at him. "Don't. Push. It." Zwei just smirked in response. "And use water and a little bit of soap when the milk seems to be gone." And the smirk dropped.

(Y/N) and Drei watched the cookies rise through the oven window. Drei's face was glued to the glass while (Y/N) was making sure he didn't take the cookies out too early.
"Are they done yet?"
"No, Drei, not until the timer goes off."
"Then let's make the timer go off sooner!" Drei suggested.
"No, Drei, it doesn't work that way."
"Oh..."
"What's going on here?" Another voice entered the room.
"We're making cookies!" Drei flapped the excess of his sleeves happily.
"Cookies?" Eins peered over towards the oven.
"It's a type of food." (Y/N) stayed.
"I would have guessed. The kitchen is where food is prepared, yes?"
(Y/N) nodded. The timer then went off.
"COOKIES!"
"Drei, don't touch anything, okay?" (Y/N) turned off the timer and pulled an oven mitt out of a drawer nearby. Drei backed off and (Y/N) opened the oven, pulling out the cookies. Drei danced excitedly in the background.
The girl placed the cookies on top of the stove, turning off the oven.
"Alright, I need to go shower, I smell like fish or something. Drei, Eins, wait until the cookies have cooled down, alright? And don't eat them all."
"Sure." Eins said. Drei just nodded

(Y/N) walked into the kitchen, only to find Drei with cookie crumbs all over his face and Eins and the cookies nowhere to be seen.
"Drei? Did you eat all the cookies?" (Y/N) pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Uhhhh... nooooooooooo?"
So I actually had this done, but SOMEHOW it didn't get published... I blame GlitchPad. But here it is! ;p
