Chapter Three: Trust Goes Both Ways.
Ford's eyes widened.
"Bill..." He whispered, both in anger and awe.
Dipper jumped in front of (Y/N), demanding questions. "How do you know him? Are you him? Do you-"
"Dipper! Let the girl explain!" His sister sighed.
(Y/N) blinked. "Oh... Okay. Um, what?"
"How do you know this, 'yellow triangle'?" Dipper final said clearly.
"Oh. Yeah, well, uh." (Y/N) scratched the back of her head in thought. "Oh yeah! Dipper, you remember when you finally got a lamby costume-"
"Let's not talk about that!" Dipper panicked.
"A what?" Ford asked.
Mabel and Stan were laughing from the side lines, clearly remembering the memory of the boy when his younger self would sing the 'lamby' song.
"Yellow triangle?" Dipper said, trying to change the subject.
"Well, I remember walking home, and I was almost there when that triangle dude tried to spark a conversation or whatever. He was talking about my future or something? Anyways, he tried to make a deal with me-"
"You didn't, right? Right?"
"No, I just screamed at him and ran away. I never heard from him since." The girl shrugged, leaning her back into a counter.
"Ford! We can trust her!" Mabel pleaded, clinging herself to her uncle's leg.
Ford was persistent. "I don't know, Mabel. We can't just expect someone from out of the blue to suddenly be our best friend that we can trust with our lives. You haven't seen her for ten years."
Stanley put a hand on his brother's shoulder, who looked at him in agitation. "Ford. This girl is special. I can promise you that. I've seen her grow, and I know she means well. You can count on me for this one. Just give up on it already. She already knows Bill and knows that something weird is going on here."
Ford thought of a solution. "We can wipe her memo-"
Mabel protested instead. "We are not wiping her memory and taking chances on brain damage!"
Ford rubbed his temples. He was unevenly matched and he knew he'd lose this argument. "Fine, but I want someone watching-"
Stan groaned. "She is fine, Ford. Remember, trust goes both ways."
"I- I guess I can't argue with that."
"Yay, (Y/N)!" Mabel tackled the girl again.
"Mabel. Mercy." The poor girl wheezed. Dipper detached his sister from (Y/N). "I'm okay." (Y/N) stated.
"Come on, Dipper. We have work." Ford made his way to a staircase behind the vending machine.
Dipper walked up behind (Y/N). "You're coming with. Ford is still uneasy about you, but I'm sure that'll clear up in time. Alright?"
"'Ight." (Y/N) nodded. She followed after Dipper, being very careful of what she was about to get herself into.
"So the yellow triangle you were talking about, yeah, his name is Bill Cipher. He is a dream demon. Pretty much, he can control anyone's mind, if they allow him."
