Prologue

Young Malae stood tucked away in a corner hiding away from all the yelling. She didn't understand what was going on; all she knew was that her mommy and daddy were in big trouble. She tried her best to stay quiet fearing the scary man in the big ice chair would suddenly turn his angry eyes towards her but she couldn't help the small whimpers escaped her tiny quivering lips.

"I wish not to hear your excuses! You are to be banished from Jotunheim!" Malae didn't know what banished meant or why the man had yelled it so loud but none the less her tiny blue hands flew to her mouth "You can't do that!" her father yelled "You have no authority!" he was holding her mother close as she wept in his arms.

The man sat up and leaned forward in the chair causing Malae to cower closer to the small corner she was in "Do you honestly believe Odin is the only one with the power to cast traitors out?" his voice seemed calm but his expression showed anything but; he returned to his recent position in the chair relaxing against the back with his face balancing in the palm of his hand. The room was silent for a moment, only the sound of poor Malae sobbing could be heard. The man stayed quiet for what seemed like eternity which only caused Malae to grow even more terrified.

She squeezed her eyes shut as tight as she could trying to focus on somewhere else, she tried to imagine herself at her home like her father taught her to if she was ever in trouble but the booming sound of the horrendous man's voice engulfed her, shaking the ground beneath her feet and caused her to lose her focus. "You are mistaken! I am power!" No sooner than he finished his sentence a blinding light consumed the room.

When the light ceased Malae opened her eyes again noticing her parents were not in the room any longer. Forgetting where she was, she ran out of the corner to where her parents once were. "Mommy? Daddy?" she cried looking all around for them but the only people around were two large men with their arms crossed against their chests and the scary man, who has seemed to calm down but was now standing. All their eyes locked to her as she broke into tears again. The scary man did this! She thought He took them away from me! Just like he did Scaro! She suddenly ran up to the man and hit him as hard as she could "Bring them back!" She screamed "Give them back to me now!" the man bent down and grabbed her wrists gently, she stopped fighting now, afraid of him and surprised at what she did.

"Who are you, girl?" Malae tried to look tough and hide her fear like her daddy always did. "I am Malae" The man nodded and let go of her wrists "And I Laufey" he stated "Do you know why I sent your parents away?" he asked and when Malae did not say anything he continued "Your mother and father went against my rules. I may not be the All-Father but I still expect to be treated as a leader, for that is what I am. Do you understand, child?" Malae didn't understand she just knew that Laufey took her mother and father away and she wanted to know why breaking a few rules was such a bad thing.

But the man persisted "Maybe one day you shall, but today I am going to give you a choice. You may stay here, with me and grow as my child despite your parent's treason, as I do not want an orphan running amuck instigating mischief, or I may send you somewhere. A place that you must grow as someone you are not." Malae thought for a second, she didn't want to stay with Laufey and she didn't want to leave Jotunheim. "I don't want to grow as your daughter" she whispered meekly Laufey nodded in understanding, he didn't expect her to stay and hoped she would pick his latter option. "But you must know you will not remember your life on Jotunheim, and you will not grow as a Jotun" Malae nodded just glad he didn't get mad for not choosing to stay with him. Without saying another word he gripped her blue wrists in his large hand once again and something odd happened, her wrist grew smaller in his grip and the cerulean blue drained from her skin leaving a pale tan color in its place. It spread all over her and just as she was going to pull away from him he placed a cold hand over her forehead and a light just as illuminant as before engulfed her.

Okay, I wrote out the first few chapters already but I'm not going put them all up yet. I want to see what kind of feed back I get from the first two before I go on.

It would help a lot to know what you think, if you want you can comment and tell me if i should edit anything or change something. Just let me know and I'll look at it! Thanks!
