(Y/N) remembered many things from her past. She remembered the first time she saw Carlos De Vil; the way he caught her eyes while he was messing around with his friends. She remembered becoming friends with him months later. Well, kind of friends. They talked when they saw each other and seemed to get along. So yeah, friends.

Their first kiss was something that would never leave her memories. That happened almost a year after they met, they'd grown close in the previous months and (Y/N) had developed a crush on him, just as he seemed to feel the same way about her. Carlos didn't use these words, in fact, he didn't use any words, he just pressed his lips against hers.

After that, they got into a kind of relationship. They never officialized anything, but people said they acted as a boyfriend and girlfriend. They were always going out on dates; he introduced her to his friends - even if she felt a bit intimidated by them -; (Y/N) was always there to support Carlos, just as he was always there for her as well. (Y/N)'s crush on him slowly turned into something stronger, but she didn't dare to name this feeling, fearing he wouldn't feel the same.

Another thing (Y/N) remembered - and she doubted she'd ever forget - was the day Carlos was invited to go to Auradon Prep. It was a day with many mixed feelings.

She remembered the crowd around a limo. A chic limo on the Isle, what the hell was going on? She remembered Carlos explaining briefly to her what was happening. He was leaving, leaving her. Carlos promised it wouldn't be for long and that soon he would be back, but (Y/N) knew better than that, promises were broken all the time.

And then those three words rushed out of his mouth. "I love you". (Y/N) took a moment to understand that he had really said that. She barely had time to react, since he was practically pulled to go to the limo. But she shouted that she loved him back and he seemed to have listened. The last memory she had of him was him grinning at her before getting into the car.

In the days that followed, she did her best to stay informed about Auradon's news, wishing she had a glimpse of Carlos somewhere. Her hope in the boy's promises had faded over the weeks, though. After six months, (Y/N) was positive that he wouldn't be back and probably had already found some other girl to kiss.

Uma tried to take advantage of (Y/N) being dumped, trying to convince her to join her crew. She apparently needed more people who were angry with the Core Four, but (Y/N) refused; she didn't hate Carlos, she just felt upset, she just wanted to forget about it.

And then that happened. Some men in blue and yellow uniforms knocked on the door of her house. She, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), was invited to study at Auradon Prep. She didn't believe the moment she heard it. She felt her legs weaken, her body shaking lightly, she wasn't waiting for that.

And all this leads to the current moment she was. (Y/N) was sitting in a limousine - which, by the way, had several delicious things to eat - with a few other people. She only recognized Lady Tremaine's granddaughter, Dizzy, who looked very anxious. (Y/N) knew she wasn't so different from her.

The (Y/L/N) girl was going to Auradon, that was real. Would she witness magic? Would she eat foods she'd never heard of? Would she really be around good and kind people? Royalty? Would Carlos be happy to see her there? Those questions didn't leave (Y/N)'s mind, making her anxiety and insecurity only increase.

(Y/N), trying to distract herself from these thoughts, looked at the window, watching the scenery outside. It was dark, but even so she could see how everything out there seemed to be so... Good. She couldn't help but feel amazed. And then she saw the school. It was so big and beautiful. Was she really going to study there from now on? (Y/N) smiled at the sight, but they didn't stop there. She didn't question it, just started focusing on her hands.

What kind of classes would she have? Would she fit in? Would she make friends? Would she learn to be good? Wasn't she already? She wasn't right, she was more good than most of the people on the Isle, but would she be good as a true Auradon person?

Suddenly the car stopped, making (Y/N)'s heart skip a beat. They had arrived. She didn't feel ready, but she was the first one to have the courage to leave the limo. Dizzy came after her, approaching her as she looked around. Soon all the kids were outside, following the guards, who guided them somewhere. A ship. It was so fancy and shiny. The closest they had to it on the Isle was Uma's ship.

As they entered the place, (Y/N) was greeted by music and smiling faces; a man and an elegant woman were there to welcome them, but (Y/N) was too amazed to pay attention to what they were saying. She only returned to reality when Dizzy bumped into her as she ran down a staircase, down to the part of the ship that was, for some reason, wet. (Y/N)'s eyes followed the little girl, seeing her running to someone. Evie. If she was there, would Carlos be around too? Did (Y/N) really want to see Carlos? What if he had really forgotten her?

(Y/N) carefully went down the stairs, feeling a bit out of place. Everyone there was so beautiful.

Her feet had barely touched the water on the floor when she felt two wet arms wrap around her waist from behind, lifting and twirling her in the air, making her let out a squeal. (Y/N) heard a chuckle as she was put back on the floor; she would recognize that laugh anywhere.

The girl turned, facing an extremely smiling wet Carlos. He was different; his hair was changed and he looked taller than she remembered. She didn't have time to analyze him better because soon Carlos pulled her into a tight hug. Oh, he was much stronger than the last time they'd seen each other.

"I'm so glad you're here." his voice had changed too. "I missed you." the girl, with no reaction, didn't move and Carlos pulled away from her, feeling weird about her lack of actions. His smile vanished when he saw her tearful expression. "What's wrong?"

(Y/N) threw herself into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck, burying her face in the boy's shoulder. "I missed you so much." she said through the few tears that streamed down her face. "You've been away for far too long."

She felt her waist being tightly wrapped as Carlos gave little kisses on the top of her head.

"I'm so sorry." he muttered. "I wanted to contact you, believe me, I tried, but... It wasn't an easy thing to do. I didn't want to leave you there, to leave you alone." his grip on her tightened. "I thought of you every day I've been here."

(Y/N) smiled at those words, smiled at being with him again, seeing that he was actually happy to be with her. "I thought you had forgotten me, you know, moved on." she whispered, feeling Carlos tense up before he pulled away enough to be able to look at her face.

"You really thought that?" his face expressed many emotions, such as hurt and indignation. "How could I forget the first time I laid my eyes on you? How could I forget the person who was always there for me, no matter how bad the situation was? How could I forget the way you made me feel all happy and nervous just to be by your side? How could I ever forget the girl I love?"

Love. So, he did truly love her. Those words made her feel warm and loved, in the way that only Carlos could make her feel. A smile quickly appeared on her face as she nodded. "I love you so much."

(Y/N) leaned forward, pressing her lips to his, an action that was welcomed by Carlos, who didn't hesitate to move his lips against the girl's. His hands caressed her waist, ever so lightly pulling her closer to him, he wanted to have her as close to him as he could.

Her arms, which were still around his neck, also pulled him closer to her, her hands lightly messing his wet hair. As she felt him gently sucking on her lower lip, she couldn't help but let out a contented moan, she had really missed having Carlos with her.

He slowly pulled away, leaning his forehead against hers, silly smiles on their faces. "I'm really glad you're here." Carlos gave her lips a quick peck. "You're my happy ending."
