* although he already had a crush on you for a while, you just noticed him on one day as you were leaving your History of Pirates and Woodcutters class
*you were walking down the halls with a few more people around you when you noticed a boy with white hair and freckled face
*you knew who he was: Carlos De Vil
*he was walking in the direction you came from, probably going to the class you were, but what caught your attention to him was that he was staring at you
*it was until he noticed that you were looking back at him
*so he focused his gaze ahead of him, walking so tense that he looked like a robot
*that was the time you noticed the campus mutt, Dude, walking beside him
*and - surprisingly - talking to him rather loudly
* "She totally saw you staring."
*first of all, had the dog just talked?!
*and second, was he talking about you? Did Carlos stare at you often?
*the next few days you saw him in the hallway, you tried to see if he tried to catch a glimpse of you, but no, he kept looking forward
*so you convinced yourself that you probably had misunderstood the situation and that Dude wasn't even talking about you
*but you were right, but Carlos was too nervous to let you know that he was interested in you
*the next time you noticed him, it was an afternoon during lunch
*coincidentally your group of friends and his were eating in nearby places
*and, seeming not to have learned that you could catch him looking at you, Carlos seemed not to care so much about his food as he stared at you
*that's when his friends noticed that
*Everyone had noticed that Carlos was a little distracted that afternoon, when he joined the conversation he just let out some murmurs that couldn't be understood by the others. It was then that Jay noticed that his friend was staring at something (or someone). He followed Carlos' gaze, spotting a small group sitting next to them, most of them being girls.
"Who are you looking at?" Jay couldn't help but smirk, but De Vil's boy was so engrossed in his gaze that he didn't notice he was talking to him.
He just turned his attention to his group when Dude spoke. "The girl he likes is right there."
Evie's eyes widened at that as she turned excitedly to Carlos. "Do you like someone? Who?"
Carlos, who was already beginning to panic inside, sent a look to warn Dude not to say anything else.
"What?" his voice sounded nervous. "I don't like anyone, n-no, I don't know what you're talking- I wasn't staring at anyone."
Mal looked at him, raising one eyebrow, clearly not believing. "You were almost drooling, so either you like someone there or they have a chocolate fountain at that table." she said, gesturing to the table where you were.
"And the only chocolate I see around here is the one on your plate." Jay concluded, grinning as Carlos' cheeks turned reddish.
He was about to deny it again, but sighed, it was useless. "The one with the (F/C) shirt." he muttered, a grimace on his face.
His friends, not bothering to be discreet, looked in your direction, analyzing you. Evie gave you a look of approval. "Why don't you call her here?"
Carlos shrugged. "I've never talked to her."
"There's always a first time for everything." Jay spoke with a mischievous look in his eyes.
Carlos soon realized what he was planning: call you up there and probably tell something embarrassing about the De Vil boy to you, possibly also letting it "slip" that he likes you.
"Jay, no-"
Jay's mouth was already open, about to shout something, when Carlos, in an act of desperation, threw his rice at him. A moment of silence followed, Jay giving him that what-the-fuck look before smirking. The next thing the De Vil boy felt was his chocolate being crushed against his face.
As if it weren't enough to have chocolate all over his face in public, he heard laughing. You and your friends were leaving, heading toward them, and you guys were looking at Carlos. Some of your friends laughed, but you just glared at him. As you passed by the Core Four you commented "you shouldn't waste food like this, you know." before continuing your way, clearly annoyed.
"If you had any chance with her, you don't have anymore." Dude said, but he didn't have to. Carlos was thinking the same thing.
