i will take you back all the way to 6th grade. little old me walking around the halls. look up as the tall 8th graders toward me like i was some sort of ant. but actually... i was an ant. people actually called me a little chihuahua cuz of my peppy-puppy like personality. well... moving on... enough about my little self. 🙄
it was the very first day of 6th grade. we had to wear ugly gray uniforms and the dress code was very strict. like we couldn't wear jackets type strict. at first glance, you think to yourself, "WOW... middle school! new year! new me... time to show that confidence." in the morning, i would turn on my music to just get me hype about the new day. i would strut in my room like i was in some sort of miss universe pageant. that way, i felt very confident.
but as i channeled my little chihuahua body into my homeroom, this girl gave me a stare. she gave be very bad uncomfortable vibes. like i-am-more-superior-than-you vibes. i thought to myself, "aaahm! what a great start to my year." 😒
SIDENOTE: I WAS VERY SENSITIVE BACK THEN. i would be the type to overthink stuff. students my age looking at me. teachers giving me first glances. adjusting to middle school was very tough to get used to.
anyways, after homeroom. i decided to not let that get to me. sure. i was a little bit intimidated... but at least i got to see my friends from my old elementary school. for that time being, they became my first friend group in middle school.
