Not a Good Idea

"Work with him? Brooklyn what kind of fucking foolishness are you on right now!?" Carlos asked yelling at me. He was furious. Not even just at me, but at the plan itself. Rise and shine. It's an early Monday morning and I'm getting cursed out by Carlos in his office.

"Carlos I explained to you what happened. It was no way I was going to get the job with how you wanted it to be done last night! So let me just set him up to get him killed!" I explained.

"So you think you two working together would be any better? You think he's not going to eventually find out you're playing him like how quick it was for him to notice something fishy was going on when you brought him to the bathroom!" he said while he slammed on his desk. "Obviously he's brighter than you and your dumb ass idea. You've never disappointed me until today. For a first, I'll get someone else to get the job done Brooklyn. Thank you for your services they are no longer needed." Carlos said. He was getting ready to walk out of his office before I pulled him by the arm. He turned around as I grabbed on his suit with anger in his face.

"Carlos, please. I promise you won't regret it. The money he and I make together I'll give you half the night you kill him." I explained.

"Me? Kill him? Now you've really lost it!" He yanked his arm away.

"Imagine it, Carlos! Gunna being face to face with the man he thought he could compete with. The man who really owns New York. Then that man is the one to take him out. No better feeling he's your only competition please Carlos!" I explained. He seemed hesitant, I wasn't sure if he'll go through with the plan.

"Brooklyn, this plan of yours better work. We'll talk about it more. Now get back to work."

I was extremely excited about this opportunity. I can now get help making money while I'm still making money of my own on the side. I was anxious to get the job done. But now that our talk was over like he said it was time for me to get back to work. Today I'm on the clock, but lucky for me not a lot of people get drinks in the morning here.

After leaving out of the office I had to walk past the others room on a long hallway. At the end of the hallway was Carlos's office, also where he keeps all the money in the casino. There was a room on the right side of the hallway as soon as you leave out of the office where the crew has meetings at. On the left side, you had the lounge for the employees. A lot of things have happened in there. Another room on the left side right next to it where there are all vending machines and a restroom on the right side right across. When I walked past the lounge, I saw a couple of the employees. They assume that I have a job here because I'm Carlos's girlfriend, not knowing my actual occupation. They knew I wasn't apart of the cartel because if I was they would've been known my position by now. So they just see me at the meetings right on the left-hand side of Carlos which makes it look like I am his woman.

While I was making my way towards the bar, I noticed my coworker on the clock. Her name is Erika. Erika is probably one of the sweetest girls I have ever met. But don't try her! Erika's temper is short, she doesn't tolerate bullshit. She's a good 5'9 real dark-skin but it's just so smooth. She reminds me of that girl that models for Fenty, ya know? But don't let that pretty face fool you, she moves some heavy weight on the side while being the only legit female distributor of Carlos. Still, to this day I don't know how she got involved in Carlos's bullshit, but at the same time, it wasn't my business nor my place to know. Erika and I were really cool though. We hit it off when we first met. She got a bomb personality and she's really about her family and her money. I can't do anything but respect that.

I came behind the counter and palmed Erika's ass. She just smiled at me with her pretty white pearls. I had a bookbag with me that I usually carry with me everywhere I go. I placed it under the bar counter.
