Chapter 2- 365 Days

Die in a year. Die in a year! DIE in a YEAR!?

"But I haven't even finished my bucket list! I haven't kissed my crush or been to Paris, or, or.. No." I say and sit down on the edge of the bed and try holding back the tears burning in my eyes.

*few hours later*
"We took all the tests we need. If we find anything, we will notify you immediately."

"Thank you, doctor." I say and he hands me my clothes that look like they had been washed.
"Is there anyone that you can call to pick you up?"

I think for a second. The only number I have in my phone is... Parkers. I change real fast and call Parker.

"Hello?" Parker.
"Yes, um.. It's Quinn. I kind of need a ride." I say and look down at my feet. And watch them as they trace the lines in the tiles on the floor.
"You do? Well tell me where you're at and I'll head there."
"Um.. I'm at Hender Hospital." I say.

"What?! Did something happen?" He asks and I hear a door slam. He must be on his way.
"No.." I say.
"I'm on my way." He says and I hear a faint noise in the background.

Parkerrr! Who're you talking to?

Veronica!

He hangs up and I grit my teeth. I know, I know. Veronica and Parker are dating. That's another reason why she is out get me. Girl thinks I'll steal her boyfriend.

I walk to the elevator and push the down button. When the door opens I walk in.
"Hold the door!" I hear someone yell. I put my hand on the door before the elevator closes.

"Thanks." A man says as he walks in. He's slightly taller than me, has blonde hair that is messy, and his eyes are blue. A pretty blue. He looks at me and smiles.
"What were you doing here?" The man asks.
"Visiting family. My sister had a baby." I say. A huge lie.
"Aww. Aren't babies just the cutest." He says and gushes.
I laugh.
"Yea. If you like changing dirty diapers and waking up at three in the morning. Then yea, cute." I say and roll my eyes. We both laugh.

The man extends a hand and says,

"I'm Andy. I like skating, music, and doing anything that involves breaking a few ribs." He says and I shake his hand.
"My name is Quinn. I like beanies, boys, and music." He meets my eyes.

"Nice to meet ya, Quinn." He says and winks. We let go of each others hands and arrive at the lobby.
"I'll see you around someday, Quinn." He says and walks off and I step out of the elevator after him. I spot Parker outside standing by his truck.

"There you are! Are you ok?" He says and goes in for a hug. I try to resist but then find myself in the comfort of his arms. I smile and feel as if all my worries had just magically disappeared. I hug back and notice that Veronica isn't in the truck.

"Veronica?" I ask.
"Oh, I kind of drove her home. She was getting annoying." He says and runs his hand through his short brown hair. I sigh and make sure he doesn't hear me. I hop in his truck and buckle up.

"So? What were you doing at the hospital?" He asks and I gulp remembering what the doctor had said just hours ago.

"I got hit by a car last night." I say and look out the window.
"What about your parents? They couldn't drive you?"
I grit my teeth and spout out,
"My family don't care about anyone but themselves!"
He goes silent.
"Sorry. I lost my temper." I say and sigh. When we arrive I unbuckle and he says before I open the door,
"If you ever need a place to stay or just need someone to talk to, you can come to me anytime." I give him a weak smile and shove my hands in my pocket.

"Thanks, but with what is happening now. I don't think anyone can help me." I head inside the house and run into my room. Once I arrive in my room, I sit down at my desk and write down on a piece of paper,

Bucket List
°Meet Andy again
°Go to Paris
°Kiss my crush (Parker)
°Get rid of the snake (Veronica)
Etc

I was about to set my pencil down but then I thought real hard of another thing to write down and wrote down,
