<Gerard's P.O.V>

And so, we decided to call it a night and doze off. Frank, being all concerned of his car, decided to sleep in it.

Ray, since he is a ghost, he decided to continue his mission of killing off all the WW2 veterans. He says he's almost done with his list.

Lindsey says she'll take the roof top... and I decided to stay there too.

I got on the roof first. I unraveled a long, thick, blue cloth to use a mat for us to sleep on... I MEAN, not that I do want to have physical contact, possibly even spoon with her as we sleep... I was just trying to be cool... Nobody sleeps on cold paved roofs.

I watched her climb up the tree after me, and slowly, I crawled to a corner of the mat, trying not to crease it so much. I sat up on my elbows, observing her reaction to my silent suggestion of having this mat.

She set foot on the roof, stretched like a little girl tired from her daycare. She yawned too, and placed her hands on her hips.

Lindsey eyed on the mat I was occupying, and I tried my hardest not to stare at her like a creep on a bed.

She pointed a finger at the space I left for her. "I'm staying there?"

"Uh... yeah... if... that's fine. I just thought this would be better than to sleep on the cold roof." I reasoned. I dropped my elbows and laid flat on the mat. My body sort of cracked at the feel of the hard concrete under the thick mat... but this was better than the cockroach motel.

I heard a guffaw as she dropped her pointing finger.

"Real thoughtful, but I'll be up late. I need to practice my sorcery. Take the whole space- I'll stay on the tree."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, good night, Gerard."

I watched her leave, jumping off the roof top and grab onto a tree branch. Like a little girl on the monkey bars, she swung her way to the top of the tree till I couldn't make her full form in the darkness. I saw her silhouette make it to a huge branch. The bright moon, shining like a waxed plate, was sitting right next to her silhouette.

The whole night, I listened as she stuttered some chants, and add mystical colors to the dark night sky. Sometimes she would fail, earning a giggle from me. She'd turn to my direction, and I'd pretend to sleep.

I wished her good luck as my eyes began to close to the sight of Lindsey near the moon.

<the next day>

I woke up to that aching sensation in me.

The first thing I did was to look for Lindsey.

As I got up from the creased blue cloth, I felt my stomach grumbling too.

I rushed to where the roof ends, that's where the tree is. I looked up, and found the woman lying on the shaded areas within the tree. From down here, she looks like a pale figure with jet black hair, wrapped in red. She looks so relaxed; even smiling as she opens her eyes. Lindsey parts the cluttering branches in front of her, letting the sunlight into her shelter.

She closed her window of leaves and looked down; spotting me instantly.

We locked eyes for a moment. I don't even wave or smile- I just watch her watch me, despite my hunger and feeling to fetch souls.

She jumped off the branch she was sitting on, and she sat on thin air, perfectly pulling me back to the horrible reality I am in.

She alights down, and dusts herself off her shaky landing.
