How can I ever write my heart’s song?

This melody in the depths of my soul,

This tune I’ve contained for so long,

The rhythm that would make you fall;

When no words are bound to say,

No lyrics can match this whirlwind music

Playing whenever my eyes in you lay

That it makes my heart beat kick.

I am mute, and you are deaf;

I cannot speak, and you cannot hear

This soundless pitch played in a clef

Every note to you is unclear.

Beats of my drums are heavy,

The sound of my guitar is shallow,

And I’m afraid that I cannot carry

This unsung song that in my veins flow.

Tapping my fingers in the muted piano keys,

My heart feels like bursting its piece.

But every time I try to sing, I freeze,

Stunned in this dance I cannot seize.

Truth can set my caged heart free,

Play this melody in the chords of happiness,

Burn these sparks in a higher degree;

Let me not be forever voiceless.

Hear me when I call your name,

Look into my vivid eyes and see,

Feel my whisper to the wind of flame,

Listen to my voiceless plea.
