ASHLEY

We just drove in silence for half an hour, heading who knows where.

My back was faced towards him, because I was silently crying and looking out the window.

I just met him and I didn't want him to see me cry, because I knew he would ask why and I hate sharing my feelings. I promised myself I wouldn't let anyone in.

I just sat there in silence feeling tears brush down my face, watching the woods pass by with no life in them, hearing the car, and just thinking about my family.

Finally, I could feel him staring down at me. So I tried to wipe away my tears and make my face look normal, so he couldn't notice.

But he did, and broke the silence... "Why are you crying? Is there something wrong?" he paused and looked like a light bulb came on, "Did I do something wrong?" he asked with the stupidest face I have ever seen.

That made me laugh, "No, I'm fine, just thinking..."

"Thinking about what?" he asked.

"Nothing, really." I answered.

"Oh come on. You must be thinking about something, if it's making you cry this bad." he said.

To know that someone actually cared, made me start to cry even more.

I just thought about my family even more. "Can you pull over, please? STOP THE CAR!" I yelled with my voice shaky.

He looked frightened, and did what I said.

I couldn't wait until the car stopped, so I ran out a little before. Slamming the car door behind me.

The crying got worse and worse. With a hand to my aching head, and a hand on my stomach. My leg began to tremble, and I feel to my knees. Crying into the yellow grass.

I heard the car door shut, and footsteps coming towards me.

I looked up to the sky, and tried to get a hold of my self.

Sean came over and sat bedsides me and said low and calmly, "You sure your okay?"

I just kept crying trying to ignore him, because this was really embarrassing. Just meeting someone and already crying your eyes out. My cheeks began to turn even more red, and shockingly he noticed.

"It's ok..." he sighed, "There's no need to feel ashamed." He said sorrowfully.

I could feel him looking at me, and it burned. I still said nothing, not in the mood to talk.

"You know?" he looked up to the sky. "I know what you need."

I looked down to the ground, hoping he would just forget about it, "You need a break. I know this place that, will cheer you up." he said hopefully

"It's also safe..." He added. I looked up at him with sorrow, and a bit of excitement.

He stood up, and went behind me and picked me up from under my arms.

This time I let him, because I just wanted safe right now.

"Wow. You finally realized I don't bite." he said playfully.

That made me laugh a little. Sean gently set me down in the passenger seat, and carefully closed the door.

When he climbed in the driver's seat, he saw me start to close my eyes. But I was to scared to. So I opened them back up fast.

He seemed to see, and said, "It's ok. you can sleep. I won't do anything. We are going somewhere safe. Anyways you need the rest. It's a long way from here..."
