Taking It Slow

So sorry that I haven't uploaded on this story in a while. I will try and work on this while workingon my other ones on my other account. 

Wylie p.o.v

Ryan had followed me outside. I chunked Maya's dad out. His body landed in a thump as I whipped my hands off on my pants. He slowly staggard to his feet and turned towards me. "You can't protect her all the time Wylie. I will get her back" he spat. "Why do you want her so bad?" I asked. I was really curious to why he wanted her. He never gave a rat ass about her since her mother died. "You see she has a talent that I need. If I can use her talent then I can become rich" he said with the most disturbing smiles. 

I knew what talent he spoke of. Maya has the ability to change the pitch of her voice to match that of someone else when she sings. A lot of record places want that, so they can make remixes and have a backup singer. Maya spoke that one day he wanted her to do that but she disagreed. That ended up with her being locked in her room without food or water for nearly a week. It really makes me mad to know someone would do that to their own flesh and blood. My anger was rising and it didn't help that the bastard who does it was smiling. "I wont let you near her" I said keeping a stern eye on her. 

"We will see little girl" he said in a mocking tone before walking off. I clenched my hands to my side in total anger. What gives these people the right to call me a little girl. I know for a fact I can totally beat his ass. I felt a warm hand pat my shoulder. I don't know why but a warm feeling began to spread through me soothing my anger. "There nothing you can do right now, so don't get so worked up" Ryan voice filtered through. Even though I haven't known him for long he is effecting me like no one can. Not even Maya can calm me down so easy. 

"What are you" I asked out of the blue. He gave me a surprise look which convienced me he was hiding something. One thing I hate is when someone hides something from me. I crossed my arms and tap my foot against the ground in an impatient way. "I'm a normal guy who sings" he answered after a while. I knew something was up, but I couldn't put my finger on it. "No one I mean no one has ever been able to calm me down lie that. Your lucky I didn't break your hand when you touch me while I was angry" I stated. "All you need to know that in due time you and Maya will know who we truly are. For know Derek and me just want to get to know you two fine young ladies" he said shrugging. 

He turned to began the journey back in. "Trust me" he whispered. "Why should I trust a stranger?" I asked. "Good question, but were not strangers" he replied with a smile. I cocked my ehad at him before turning away following him upstairs. I was surprised to see Maya smiling and laughing with this other boy. Usually when she with someone she doesn't know completly she ends up doing this shutting down thing and doesn't speak. She turned towards me her eyes wide with amazement. "Wylie!" she exclaimed hugging me. I gave her a pat on her back a little confused. I can seem Derek who currently had a huge ass grin on his face. "Why are you so happy?" I asked wanting to get to the bottom of her excitment. "Well you see Derek challenge me to show down on a video game, and that game happens to be Star Ocean and we all know who rocks at that game" she said.

"I hope your ready to lose. No one and I mean no one has been able to beat Maya at Star Ocean" I said turning my attention on Derek. Ryan let out a half hearted laugh causing me to scowl at him. "I think this will be an intresting challenge. No one has been able to defeat Derek due to him playing that game all the time" Ryan said covering up his mistake. "When will this challenge happen? It's getting awfully late and I need to get Maya home so she wont be as tired tomorrow when she wakes up to go to school" I said. "How about this weekend?" Ryan suggested.

I looked at Maya who seemed bummed that she couldn't play sooner. "I'm fine with that" I answered. Maya glared at me and crossed her arms. Great she going to blow up.

Maya p.o.v

"How come I can't skip tomorrow and we can do the challenge tomorrow?" I asked. I was playing a dangerous game at the moment. No one ever challenges Wylie and her descisions. I was pushing the boundries and I knew what could happen. "Your not going to skip a day of school due to you wanting to play video games" Wylie snapped back.

The guys slowly moved away clearly not wanting to get in the middle of this. I uncrossed my arms and clenched my fist. "You have no right to tell me what and what I can't do Wylie. Your not my parents nor my gaurdian. It's no fair I have to go to that hell hole while you don't" I spat out with venom. Ever since Wylie got kicked out I had to deal with the after effects. I was tired of being pushed around. I don't like violence at all and that's why I don't fight back.

I never felt this angry before. Yes I gotten mad or sad at some things Wylie does, but she never pushed me this far. I don't know why I just have this gut feeling that I needed to stay with Derek. "Maya we are not having this conversation in someones house" she said. Before I could open my mouth again she placed a hand on my shoulder. I could tell she was squeezing my pressure point. Black dots began to fill my vision. "Sorry Maya, but I can't afford you getting mad" she whispered as I fell into darkness.

Derek p.o.v

It took everything in me not to lash out at Wylie for making Maya go down. She picked Maya up and swung her on her shoulder. "We'll be seeing you around. Bye" Wylie said before walking out. I looked at Ryan who was scratching his neck. "We have some fiesty mates" he muttered. "You think" I mutter back. He turned towards me setting his hand on my shoulder. "Until we get them use to being around us we will not tell them who we are" Ryan said in his Alpha voice. His voice doesn't effect me due to me being a vampire, but I understood what he meant. We will be taking this slowly.
