We all followed Morbis blindly. No one knew where he was going, hell, I'm pretty sure he didn't even know where he was going. Regardless, we followed. He was obviously angry, and out for blood. Every dead one we saw, he killed in seconds. After we got out of the city, which took us an hour or two no doubt, Fox ran up to catch up with him and make sure he wasn't being too reckless. They talked with each other till sunset, when we finally stopped. We were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by thick orange, and dark green forest.
"Hey," I spoke soft, tapping his shoulder, "Do you know where you're going?"
"Far from here, and those people," he sat on a sizeable tree stump. He seemed better, or at least back to me. I still have no idea what she said to him, but Fox had a way with people and words. Fox stood, stretching out her back.
"I'll be back, I'm going to find somewhere we could maybe stay the night.
"Someone should go with you,"Morbis stood, standing taller than Fox, yet still shorter than me and everyone else.
"No, I'm going alone," she said somewhat insensitively.
Morbis seemed rather uneasy about letting her go off on her own but stayed behind as she disappeared among the trees.
"Hey! guys!" Fox whispered harshly at us, trying to not draw any attention to us. It was dark now, the dead would be on us before we had half a second to react. Instantaneous death.
"What?" I returned her harshness. She came closer and snatching Morbis' hand, pulling him along. "Wait!" I tried my best to follow. I grabbed Pierce and Axel, making them follow me.
"Over here," Fox's voice was too quiet to pinpoint.
"Where?" My voice was getting louder with each phrase that came out of my mouth. The anxiety of the situation began getting to me. All that could be seen was the infinite darkness that surrounded me. It took me a while to realize that Pierce and Axel were no longer at my side. I couldn't see anything, but I could hear low moans and growls. Some of them seemed to be getting further away, but others were getting louder. I panicked and ran to the last place I had seen them, running so fast that I didn't even see the large tree ahead.
