My alarm went off as I rolled over to see '8:00' written in big numbers on my phone. I hit dismiss and rolled over to see a drooling Tom, half way hanging off the bed. I let out a little chuckle and brushed my fingers through his messy hair. "Hey babe," I half sang to him "It's time to get up hun." I ran my fingers through his hair one last time and pulled a knot.
"Ouch!" he yelped. I started laughing as I lay on my back pulling my knees to my chest. "Oh you think thats funny?" he asked with a smile as he started to stand up. I kept laughing. He picked me up and spun me around. I let out a scream forgetting about Ella. "Not so funny now huh?" he said laughing.
"Sshhh!" I pressed my finger to his lips. "We can't wake her," I said still chuckling. I let my arms fall around his neck and then my head on his shoulder. He pulled his head back to look at me and smiled. I looked smiling back at him. We just looked at each other for a while, smiles on our faces, eyes locked on one another's and I envied the moment.
"We have to go try and fugure out this homeschool thing now, don't we?" he said, his smile growing as he spoke. Since Tom traveled a lot and we went with him, we had decided to homeschool Ella. I sighed putting my hand on my hip.
"Yeah, we do," I said with a smile as he leaned in kissing me gently. "Beat you down stairs!" I whisper yelled as I poked his chest and ran.
"Oh its on!" he said a little louder than myself. We both did an awkward tip toe run as we tried not to make too much noise and wake Ella. I ran down the rest of the stairs and slid to the computer on the hard wood floor with my fuzzy socks. I turned behind me and saw tom reach the bottom of the stairs and fall right on his behind. I let out a muffled laugh as I covered my mouth trying not to be to loud. I half walked, half crawled over to him because I was laughing so hard. He was sitting on the floor smiling then looked at the floor like it stuck out a foot and tripped him. We both laughed as he pulled me on top of him and we kissed again. But this time longer, taking our time with this one. I stood and helped pull him to his feet. We walked to the computer opening it up. Tom insisted he could figure it out as I cooked us some breakfast. He stuck on his nerdy glasses that I think make him look sexy as he started the homeschool system.
The whole time I was cooking, I was watching Tom, his look of confusion and concentration. I laughed a little but he was so focused he didn't even hear me. "Ugh." I heard as I flipped the eggs in the pan without a spatula; a little trick Tom had taught me. I looked over and saw him with two fingers on each temple like he was going to get it to work with his mind. I let out another chuckle. I walked over with our eggs on the new red plates he had bought us. I set them down on the table and started rubbing his shoulders while I rested my chin on his head.
"I dont understand what I'm doing wrong! I can't get the system to download!" I looked at the computer screen and within three clicks, got the program up and running. I pecked him in the cheek as he groaned. "That's not fair! How did you- that's not fair!" He said pointing at the screen and trying to hold in his laughter. I shrugged and smirked at him.
"Face it, I'm just better than you." I winked and put a fork full of eggs in my mouth.
"Oh yeah, you're so much better than me," he said as he rolled his eyes and smiled.

Nine o'clock rolled around and I decided to wake Ella up. I was happy she was so excited about learning, I thought she might hate it. The day ended up being great. No, better than great, it was amazing. Tom having a day off was a dream come true. He's so great with Ella. He helped her with school work by using things from around the house so she had something right infront of her to learn from. He wanted her to be able to hold it and feel it. I would have never thought to do that. He knows just how to keep her little mind occupied. During play time, he had her balancing on the bottom of his feet like superman and she never looked so happy. He was even teaching her foward rolls. I knew my family wasn't perfect. I knew that it has had it's bad times, but now we were all together. No matter how unperfect my little family was, It was still mine, and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of it. Because after all, theres no such thing as perfect.
