Shelby's POV

I woke up soaked with sweat. I had multiple nightmares tonight but that one was the worst.

Dream:

I was in a forest. I looked up and saw a little bit of light from the moon. I was really scared.

"Max?" I called out. He would make me feel better. I called again.

"Shelby!" I heard Max scream. He kept screaming and I ran towards them.

I finally came to a clearing in the woods. In the middle was a person tied to a chair.

Wait.

That wasn't just a person.

That was...

Max.

"Max!" I tried screaming but nothing came out. I tried over and over but there was still nothing.

I figured walked out from in between two large trees holding something.

I then realised what it was when the moon reflected off of it.

I then realised a lot of things.

The thing the person was holding was a knife.

The person was going to kill Max in front of my eyes.

And the person was...

Tyler.

Tyler was going to kill the person I loved with a knife.

I then realised one more thing.

I love Max.

I actually, truly, love Max.

Before I could move, the knife was being thrown.

And it stopped.

Right in the middle of Max's Chest.

"Nooo!!!!" I cried. Oh, so now I can speak.

"It's all your fault, Shelby," Tyler said. "If you hadn't moved to Washington to be with this loser and your stupid cousin and you had forgiven me, none of this would have happened. It's all your fault, Shelby," Tyler said with a wicked grin on his face.*

That's when I woke up.

I could still here Tyler's voice in my head.

All your fault

I couldn't be alone anymore.

I walked to Max's room.

"Max?" I asked, hoping he could here me, considering I was really quiet.

"Shelby?" He opened his eyes and looked at me. "What's wrong?"

"I h-had a nightmare," I stuttured. "C-can I sleep w-with you t-tonight?"

"Of course, Shelby,"

I slowly walked over the Max's bed and crawled under the blankets. I soon felt arms wrap around me and I felt safer.

~*Time skip to 9:30 am*~

I woke up and Max was still holding on to me. I felt much better.

The nightmare was just that.

A nightmare.

I decided to get up and get ready for the day.

I tried getting up but Max's grasp was to strong.

"Max," I whined. "Let go of me,"

"Shh...I'm trying to sleep," He responded.

"I'll make you mac n' cheese" I sing-songed.

"Really?" His eyes shot open.

"Only if you let me go," I giggled.

"Fine," He said, letting go of me.

I got up and went downstairs to make Max his meal.

After I finished that, I went to get ready.

I put on ripped jeans, a tattered grey tee, a choker and a leather jacket. I then went to do my makeup. Neutral.

I went downstairs after I finished brushing through my hair and saw that Ross was there.

"Ross!!" I shouted and ran down the stairs.

"Shelby!!" Ross yelled, bolting up from his chair. We hugged. "It's so good to see you again! How have you been?"

"Good," I smiled.

"Is my mac n' cheese ready, yet?" Max yelled from the stairs.

"Yes, Max. Your mac n' cheese is ready," I giggled as I saw Max run down the stairs.

"Hey, Shelby. How would you like to get a job at SkyMedia?" Ross asked me.

"I wouldn't like it," I said, trying to sound as convincing as possible.

"Oh, okay. I'll just have to tell Ada-"

"I would LOVE to work there!!" I said jumping up and down like a 5 year old.

"ROSSOME!!!" Ross says. I giggle.

"What's going on out there?" Max asks from the kitchen.

"I'm working at SkyMedia!!" I shout.

I don't give him enough time to respond before I ask "When do I start?"

"Today, if you want," Ross says.

"Great!!" I say.

"You can have Jennifer's old office,"

"Who?" I ask.

"Someone who worked there," Ross told me.

I ran upstairs and packed a bag and things to decorate my new office with.
