I drove to my shop with Amber in the passengers seat staring out the window. Hopefully she can get her mind out of the negatives because if she don't pretty soon she gonna go crazy

What'cha thinkin' bout?" I asked her and she shook her head not even looking over at me

"I used ta did dat shit"

"What?" Her eyes stayed outside

"Hold everything in" I stroking my chin hairs while glancing over at her then back at the road "it ain't  fun"

She didn't say nothing nor look in my direction which gave me the hint that she didn't wanna talk right now and I respected that. We finally got to the shop and I parked the car and Amber was looking at me

"What's wrong"

"I'm not really good with meeting new people"

I sucked my teeth "don't worry bout dem.... I got chu' come on"

I helped her out of the car and let her walk in first so I could hold the door for her. Before she even walked in I could tell that she was a little uncomfortable

"What up Aug" Maleek greeted from behind the desk and I walked towards him dabbing him up with Amber not far behind

"What's good" I turned around acknowledging her "dis Amba'.... Amba' dis my boy Maleek"

"How you doin'" he said and all she returned a smile smile while putting her head down and that was my cure to cut this convo short

"Come on Amba'" I said walking to the back and she followed me into my office

She looked around as she stood there waiting for directions

"Ard yuh can sit hea' and..." I paused thinking of what I needed her to do as she sat down in my chair "can you sort these fa' me"

I sat down a stack of papers and she nodded her head and paying attention while I explained to her what to do

"You gud?"

"Yeah I got it" she said as she started

"There's music on dere' if you want" I said pointing to my Mac

"Ok, thanks"

I walked out the room and closed the door all the way just so she could feel more comfortable. When I went into the lobby there was a couple more people in there but I knew I didn't have a client until about 10 o'clock

"Who dat" Maleek asked as I leaned against the front desk

"Who?"

He sucked his teeth "da chick yuh fuckin' came in wit nigga" he said is a duh tone

"Oh Amba'"

"Who is she"

"Long story.... but she stayin' wit me fa a lil"

I didn't want to tell any of her business especially because I didn't know the full start myself.

"You hittin' dat"

"Nah, she not like dat"

"Mmm"

"Fuck dat mean"

"Dat mean yuh a lyin' ass nigga"

"Believe what chu' want" I laughed walking away putting my hands up in surrender and going to get my shit together for my client that was probably going to show up pretty soon. And I ain't feel like tryna explain myself to Maleek, I don't owe him shit
