Cato:

I put down my sword and go to the canteen to get some lunch. I can't wait to see Clove and catch up with her! Queues are already forming in the training centre canteen and luckily for me I'm close to the front. I see Clove stuck right at the end and shout over to her.

"Hey! Clove!"

She looks around, startled by my shout.

"Oh, hey Cato!" She shouts back over, waving at the same time and if I can see correctly, laughing.

"C'mon." I usher with my hand to signal to her to come skip the queue to stand with me. She looks reluctant at first but then I see her shrug her shoulders and she races down to get me. I'm not bothered what anyone thinks, in the end they're all scared of me anyway, they wont say nothing, they're all afraid of 'big bad Cato'.

But they don't know my weakness and neither does she.

Clove:

I feel bad for skipping the queue but it's not like it's a group of people skipping and anyway everyone's gonna get served anyways so no biggie.

"Hey." I say to Cato as he smiles.

"Thanks for joining me."

He is so goergous when he smiles.

"Yea, no bother. Beats being stuck at the back. I've decided since the reaping is tomorrow I might as well liv today up."

"Yea, me too. Want to get as much training in but also have some fun, you know?"

We get to the top of the queue and are served. Cato tells me to go first.

"Thanks." I say with a smile, I can't help but look straight into his blue eyes as he looks straight back down into mine, smiling.

I order my food, just a few cheese sandwiches and a bottle of orange juice with an apple. Its my usual lunch, and I like it.

Cato orders too and we find a seat.

"It's strange." He says, "We've only just started talking really, yet I feel like I've known you for ages."

"I know excactly what you mean." I mod taking a bite into one of my sandwiches.

He looks at me for a while, just looking, smirking.

"What?" I ask in a nervous yet excitable way.

"Nothing, nothing." he takes a bite into his sandwich.

"No, tell me!" I demand, playfully, nudging him.

"It's just..." He hesitates. "Your cute, that's all."

Butterflies.

"That's the second time you've said that to me today." I say laughing off my embarrassment.

"Because it's true."

"Well, thanks I guess." I don't quite know what to say. So I decide to compliment him back. "Your not too bad yourself you know." I can't help but look down as I say this, embarrassment has came again. God I feel stupid for saying that.

"Thank you very much." He smiles in admiration.

We eat for a while then I say, "You know Cato, your different than what I thought you'd be like. I was assuming arrogant, self-centred and someone who is completely full of themselves."

"Are you disappointed?" He asks.

"Nope." I reply in a cutesy tone with a little smile.

"Good, I may seem like that but it's because noone knows my weakness."

"Ooohhh, Cato has a weakness." I say, sounding intrigued.

"Indeed I do." He says with a little smirk.

"Well then, are you going to tell me?" I ask.

"Mabey one day..."

I'm even more intrigued! So this boy is not just beautiful he is really kind and mysterious. He's perfect.

"I want to know!" I don't want to sound like I'm whining but I can't help it, I'm desperate to know!

"Not today, my little Clove. Anyway lunch is nearly over."

And he's right, we have 3 minutes left. We've been talking so much, the time has just flew past.

"I must say I'm disappointed." I tell him, but I keep the smile on my face.

"That I won't tell you or that lunch is nearly over?"

"Both." The end of lunch bell goes just as I say this. We are left staring into each others eyes grinning as all the other kids are running around trying to get to the station they want to be at. I dont move though because I don't want to ruin a perfectly good moment. This could be my last good moment if something goes wrong in the games.

I shall treasure it.
