Oblivious.

Chapter 2 - Oblivious.

The next morning I woke up to Katie trying to pull me out of her bed.

She was pulling on my arm she couldn't even make me move an inch before she got tired and gave up. I smiled at her and got up.

I helped her make her bed and then helped her clean her room. Once we were finished cleaning her room we moved on to my room. The whole time Katie just sat on my bed playing my xbox360, so much for her helping me.

Once I was finished I noticed Katie had stolen one of my shirts and was wearing it with a pair of denim shorts. I laughed as I told her take it off. She ran away yelling out 'never!'. I laughed at that and gave up on getting it back.

I walked downstairs to find Katie trying to make breakfast, I smiled and told her to move out of the kitchen.

She happily walked out of the kitchen and sat on the stool across from me.

I made enough pancakes for me and Katie as Riley had gone to work, after breakfast was done me and Katie did the dishes and settled down in living room and watched a movie.

Once the movie was finished, I took Katie out to the lake, she called her friends and they decided to come over for the afternoon. They were in the lake most of the time so I didn't have to babysit them that much.

I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the girls and myself.

After lunch was finished they went outside again and started talking about guys they liked and that was my cue to leave them alone.

It was five in the afternoon by the time Katie's friends left, Katie decided to play Xbox with me until Riley got home.

It was Sunday which meant that Katie and I had school tomorrow. I was not looking forward to the first day back at school.

Summer break was over and I wish it wasn't. I enjoyed the break and I wish it was longer than what it is.

I put Katie in bed at nine thirty. She didn't like the idea but at soon as her head hit the pillow she was out like a light. I kissed her forehead and said goodnight before she fell asleep. She smiled and hugged the blanket tighter.

It was eleven by the time Riley had gotten home, he had gone straight to the kitchen where I was preparing a late night snack so I made him some eggs on toast.

He brought up how I had to go to school and I wasn't aloud to leave early. That sucked. I usually go home by fourth period. But Riley doesn't like that idea...anymore.

After we ate Riley went into his study and continued to work, so I went and had a shower, I washed my hair and blow dried it. Once it was dry, I straightened it knowing I would have to do it again tomorrow but I was trying to stay awake longer so I could sleep in and miss school.

When Riley finally caught on to what I was doing he took my straightener and hid it in his study.

Damn it!! There goes my sleep in plan!

He forced me to go to bed because apparently it was 'late' I don't know what his definition of late was considering it was only midnight.

I hadn't noticed I was tired until I took off the towel that was wrapped around my waist and slipped on some boxers. I stumbled into bed. I couldn't sleep, I was tired but I couldn't sleep.

I grabbed my phone and started checking my Facebook. I had thirty notifications and around fifty unread messages. That's what I get when I don't check it every day.

My eyes were drooping as my eye lids fell over my eyes and a black scene took over my sight. That night I didn't have any dreams, just an empty sleep, like every other night.
