"Brynn, look sharp! Professor Dumbledore is coming at 11:00 in the dot. That man is never late!"
Brynn rushed down the stairs, attempting to flatten the piece of her hair that would not stay in her ponytail. The hair won, and she let it fall at the side of my face.
"Here, mum."
Marcus MacArthur came waltzing into the room. Honestly, Brynn thought, he never stops dancing.
"Looking good, honey!" Marcus exclaimed.
"Thanks!" The two females replied in unison. They all laughed, as this was no the first time this had happened.
The three of them turned their heads to the door, which was being knocked on at this very moment.
"That must be Albus." Elle rushed to the door, and opening it for a man with a white beard that reached past his belt buckle, and hair almost the same length. Brynn recognized him as Albus Dumbledore from the pictures she'd seen.
"Hello, Elle, Marcus." Dumbledore stepped inside the doorway, giving Elle a hug, then shaking Marcus' hand. "And this must be Brynn."
"Hello, Professor."
"Now, Albus," Brynn's mother started, "you have came all this way to tell us something. What is going on?" Elle looked worried.
"Nothing to be worried about," stated Dumbledore, noticing the look on Elle's face. "I have come to discuss school matters with Brynn."
The two young adults looked confused.
"School matters?" Marcus asked.
"I suppose this may come as a bit of a shock to you. You would have assumed she would be attending Ilvermorny, correct?" All three of the MacArthurs nodded their heads. "But, there is another option. Every so often, we have students come from around the world to Hogwarts, and students who were supposed to go to Hogwarts go elsewhere. It is yet another part of our program for international magical cooperation. And I suggested that Brynn come to Hogwarts, considering that the two of you went. She may follow in your footsteps."
Brynn was stunned. Her? Go to Hogwarts? It had always been her dream. But she would be so far away from her parents. Was it worth it? By the looks of their faces, they seemed to think so.
"Why, Albus, of course! We would be happy to let Brynn go. If that's ok with her, of course." The three of them looked at the young girl in the blue jacket, questioningly.
"Of course I want to go! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Brynn ran over to hug her mum and dad, then turning to Professor Dumbledore. "I won't see my parents until next summer. How will I communicate?"
"Well, I suspect we will be able to get you a specially trained owl to fly across the sea, and we can arrange for you to see them on Christmas holiday." Brynn smiled, obviously please with the answer.
"Thank you, Professor, for this wonderful opportunity."
"You're very welcome, dear. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have got to go meet a young man from Bulgaria. Here is a list of all materials need for the coming year. Your parents will help you there. Bye, now!" With that, Professor Dumbledore apparated out of the big blue house on Church Street.
