Fireworms, although very small, are extremely dangerous. Their skin burns hotter than any other dragon. They tend to stay in groups of each other and try not to stray far from their Queen. This dragon shows many traits similar to that of bees, for example, they create a gel that's stored in honeycomb-like structures.
Fireworms also tend to glow brighter and brighter the closer they get to each other. Common Fireworms are about a few inches in length. They have dark gray scales with red skin underneath. They have five pairs of two legs, ten total legs. They have bright white eyes that glow in the dark. When they heat, they glow white-red and sometimes light their bodies on fire.
Weaknesses of your average Fireworm include that they are afraid of fire, even though it coats their bodies. They don't breathe any fire, are small and aren't very strong. Make no mistake, they are still very dangerous as they don't need to be very strong to burn your hand down to the bone.
Since Fireworm Queens do most of the work around the nest and are in charge of the defense, they cannot stray far from it, since doing so would risk the welfare of the nest. The Queens are also the only dragons in the nest capable of defending, thus taking over a Fireworm nest is not too difficult for strong or pack dragons such as Cavern Crashers who have a natural defense against fire.
The Fireworm Queen is quite intelligent, much more than the average Fireworm. Despite not being in the Tracker Class, Fireworm Queens. They have strong prehensile tails that can pick up large objects over 5,000 lbs or more. Queens can also push full-grown trees out of their way.
The Fireworm Queen is much larger in size and can be larger than a Monstrous Nightmare. The Fireworm Queen can lay thousands of eggs in her lifetime and build a massive nest of a flammable gel known as "Firecomb" to house all of the baby Fireworms.
Fireworm Queens look similar to the average Fireworm, but she has some differences that make her stand out from the rest. Other than her size, she also possesses several horns located at the back of her nape and the front of her snout that resemble a crown. When not heated up, or near her nest, the Fireworm Queen's normal skin color is pale gold, with tan-colored horns, spots, and underbelly. She also doesn't glow in this state. Fireworm Queens are always female and if another female Fireworm were to be born in a nest that already has a queen, the newly born Fireworm, the Fireworm Princess, would fly off to start a nest of her own. Fireworm Queens and princesses would appear to be the only female in the species.
Like all dragon mothers, the Queen is very protective of her home and all of her baby fireworms. The Queen is very tough and aggressive but, is not malicious. The Queen's sting is lethal to most human beings and dragons except for Stoker Class dragons. The sting can help revive a Stoker class dragon when its flame is starting to die.
